  1. I was accepted, but I've already accepted my spot at UTHSCSA...so there's another open seat for a fellow applicant! I had my interview on April 10th.
  2. Hi y'all...I have officially decided to accept my offer to UTHSCSA! I had an interview at UTMB yesterday, and that helped me make up my mind. I love the convenience of UTHSCSA, and the fact that I won't have to commute 3 hours a day! See all of you in the fall!
  3. I interviewed yesterday (I was in the second round of interviews), and it went pretty well! It also really helped me make a decision, as I've already heard back from other programs and didn't know if I could wait on hearing back from UTMB. I've officially accepted my offer to UTHSC in San Antonio. Everything is more conveniently located for me, and the clinical sites are more concentrated. The amount of commuting required for UTMB really doesn't work for me, even though they have a great program and outstanding clinical sites. Good luck to everyone who hasn't heard back, and congrats to those who have!
  4. Hi y'all, I have an interview this Friday, but I'm not even sure if I can afford to keep it anymore. I was accepted to UTHSC in San Antonio, and I have to pay my seat deposit by April 17th. For those who were accepted, how soon after did you hear back? Is it possible to hear something back within a week? I know that they're behind, but I don't want to jeopardize my acceptance at UTHSCSA for a possible acceptance at UTMB. Any advice? My stats: 96% TEAS Strong pre-req GPA, strong math and science GPA -only thing I have going against me is that I did 2.5 years of pre-med with a 3.0 GPA, and really didn't take school seriously, failed 3 classes...but I've worked super hard to redeem myself, got all A's on the pre-req sciences, and I now tutor for anatomy and phys

  6. I'm pretty sure the math/science GPA is only calculated from the math and science pre-reqs, and not all the math and science that you've ever taken. For example, I have gen. chem and organic, as well as stats, college algebra, and calculus. So since my O-chem grade (A) is higher than gen. chem, it will be used in calculating my math/science GPA. Same goes for college algebra being counted instead of Calc. As long as the class satisfies the requirement, Brandy said she will take the highest grade.
  7. I haven't received the background check either. I thought my application was pretty strong...96 on the TEAS, high math and science GPA. The only thing I was worried about were the amount of pre-reqs that I have left (6), some of which I want to petition to get credit for from previous undergrad work (the VPA credit, Nutrition). Good or bad, we'll know something on Tuesday.
  8. Thanks for posting! I scored a 96 on the TEAS, have a high GPA, and still haven't heard anything. This does make me feel better. When did you submit your application, and the supplemental app?
  9. I really hope we know tomorrow. All of the schools I applied to are way behind in releasing decisions, and I am over it!
  10. I just heard back from Brandy about this. When I went to an info session in November, we were told that the rankings would be based on the percentages (59% TEAS, 30% Math and Science GPA, etc). However, I just heard back that they are no longer "publishing" the way they evaluate applicants....so the percentages that we were told are no longer applicable. Not sure how the application evaluation process changed, but I know for sure that those strict percentages are not applicable towards Fall 2015 applicants. I feel pretty misled, seeing as I drove down to SA for an info session and based my application around what they told us. And then they changed it without a heads up!
  11. I'm pretty sure they have multiple waves of interviews, and they've only sent out the first round. Hopefully I'm right!
  12. I'm still waiting for an interview...hoping to hear back this week or next! I'm just tired of the waiting game. Luckily the other schools I applied to will release their admissions decisions next Tuesday, so at least I'll know something. I'm just afraid that I won't have enough time to make a decision if UTMB puts me on the waitlist and doesn't accept or deny me before the acceptance deadline at other schools.
  13. I was really hoping that we'd hear today or tomorrow, but it's only another week! My last name starts with a B, so as long as I don't get an email today I guess I'm eligible for admissions.
  14. I have the same stats, and I haven't heard anything! I got the email that my app was complete and would be considered for admission on January 21st. I'm freaking out!
  15. I was looking back at the Fall 2014 thread, and read that several people were admitted without interviews. I guess I can call UTMB and ask if they are interviewing all qualified applicants, or only some.
  16. Hey y'all, I also applied for the traditional BSN for fall 2015. I scored an overall of 96% on the TEAS, 100% in science, 89.6% in math as my lowest score. I have all of my sciences done, and I'd estimate my science pre-req to be 3.8. My pre-req GPA is also about 3.9. My overall GPA might be lower, as I have some previous undergrad work that didn't go so well. But hopefully that doesn't count against me...the past is the past! I am currently taking sociology, and will take a CLEP test for History 1 and 2. I definitely have the minimum number of credits completed. I submitted my application on January 5th, and it was verified and considered complete by UTMB as of Jan. 21st. I haven't received an email for an interview...does anyone know if they accept people without interviewing them? I applied to several schools, but I'm getting nervous!
  17. Hi guys, I applied for this fall, too. I scored a 96% on the TEAS, 3.8 GPA in science/math, 4.0 in basic prereqs. I felt pretty good about my application, but I haven't gotten an email for the background check yet. I'm getting a little scared! The only thing I am concerned about is the number of classes I have left to take; Texas State didn't accept my nutrition or VPA credit (from previous undergrad work in California), and I still have History 1 and 2, English Lit, and Ethics (which I am currently taking) left. That gives me the MAX amount of unfinished credits. I was hoping to petition to get credit for the VPA, and I took a CLEP exam for History 1, so I have since earned credit for the course. I turned in my application almost two weeks early, so I feel like something is wrong! Is anyone else concerned?
  18. Did you have to print out the typed portion, sign, and then scan it back in?
  19. Hi guys, I received the supplemental app on Monday. I filled it out online on DocHub, so I could type directly onto the questionnaire and application. Did anyone else do this, or did y'all fill them out by hand, scan in all the pages, and then send in? It seems like such a headache to scan in everything when it could just be done online.
  20. Hi guys! I submitted my application on January 2nd. My GPA is around 3.8, as is my math and science GPA. I scored a 96% on the TEAS. I have ethics, sociology, and history 2 left to take. I am getting a little nervous, as I submitted my app a month ago and have heard nothing back. Not sure if they waited until the deadline to start reviewing apps, but I just want to know they at least received my application!
