Hi a2012, I applied for spokane, but you all use the same books right? I would maybe be interested in buying your books (if I get accepted). My mom goes to Yakima every other week to visit family so we could work something out. Just let me know if the books are the same!

I am wearing similar to what you said except with a casual blazer and shoes with a little bit of a heel. I hope I'm not too underdressed! Did you bring anything with you into the interview?? I feel weird going in there without anything but I don't feel it's necessary to bring anything! I'm happy to hear you thought they were nice :) I think I'm way more nervous for this than I need to be!

Hi all! I haven't been on here in a really long time, sorry! Did you guys hear back from WSU about interviews? I have my interview April 7th in Spokane..I'm super nervous! Let me know you if you have heard any tips or advice from people who have had interviews here in the past :)

Sorry I didn't reply till now! I think that is pretty good for the program, if only 9% of people scored higher than you. If you have a good gpa you should be set :) I just took it again this morning and boosted my score from 79 to 87! I'm really excited. Most of the questions were the same as those on my first test..at least half of them. We will see what happens! Let me know on here when either of you hear back about getting an interview or anything!

HopefulBE, do you mind sharing your gpa and teas score? I'm really worried that I won't get accepted!! That's cool that you go to the UW, a lot of my friends are there. Where else did you apply?

It didn't take me the full 4 hours either. Especially the science part because I guessed on most of the questions ha! I scored in the advanced category as well. But I'm going to take it again in a week to be more competitive. Did you study? I need to study more.

Options for becoming Navy nurse?
I requested to talk to a medical recruiter about a week ago, and today someone called me to ask a few questions and said that a recruiter would be calling me within the next two days. I am going to see if there is anything I can do to start the application process before I get an acceptance letter (hopefully). I will definitely work on getting my grades up, it has been the non-nursing prereq classes that have been screwing me over (religious/worldview classes at my university). Thank you guys for your responses! I am definitely going to try NCP and if that doesn't work out, then I'll try direct accession, but from what I've heard direct accession is more competitive. Thanks again!

That's a bummer that it lost your transcript, that must have been a hassle :/ I took the Teas test about a month ago. I decided just to wing it without studying to see how I would do, and I got a 79, which is good enough to apply, but I'm going to take it again to be more competitive. Do you mind me asking what your GPA is? Mine is not that great so I am kind of worried I won't get accepted. I did running start and didn't take my gpa too seriously, so I have a cumulative gpa of about 3.35 now Spokane isn't that bad, I am here at Whitworth. What other schools did you apply to?

Is there anyone else out there that has applied for the WSU College of Nursing for fall of 2014? If so, what school are you coming from and which campus did you apply to?

Options for becoming Navy nurse?
Hi there, I have been browsing all sorts of threads on here looking into military nursing, specifically Navy nursing. So I made an account so I could ask my own questions! I have just recently become interested in becoming a Navy nurse for many reasons. I have requested to talk to a recruiter via their online request form. Here is a little bit about myself- I am 18 and a sophomore at a private university, I just recently applied to a nursing program and I will find out in March if I got accepted to their BSN program. My GPA is not too great, I did running start and finishing that I had a 3.3 and from this last semester (My first semester of "real" college) I got a 3.45. My questions are- What are all of my options for getting into the Navy as a nurse? I have read about NCP, ROTC (not an option for me at my school), and direct accession. Could someone explain to me what exactly direct accession is? I haven't really read anywhere what it is or what it entails. And regarding NCP, how competitive is it? Is my GPA going to hold me back? And the financial aspect, I understand it is $10,000, and then $1,000 every month for up to 24 months? Does that mean that if I were to only do the program for my senior year, then I could get $24,000 to help pay for tuition and fees? What if that $24,000 exceeds my tuition for that year, can I use it to pay of loans from my previous years? Would volunteering at a VA hospital help me get accepted? And lastly, the officer recruiter is 5 hours away from me because I am going to school across state, how will that work? I plan on calling them soon, I have just been trying to figure out if this is something that I am really interested in (which I think it is!). If you can answer ANY of these questions for me that would be amazing.
