GraceRN11 and bradmervin, Thank you for responding! I will go and get everything tomorrow then. I thought we had to wait on orders. I went and picked everything out and they are holding it until I get orders but if I don't need them then I will just get everything taken care of now. My husband is in the Marine Corps so a way on to base is no problem!

Hello GraceRN11, I will be attending COT in Aug and was wondering if you purchased all your stuff at the exchange on base or online? I went to purchase all my stuff on base and they are making me wait for orders?

Bayern, I agree! I have been reading both of their posts and they are awesome for taking the time to help prepare the newly selected! Tons of very useful information. I'm nervous but not as nervous as I use to be.

Congrats Bogielea! I hope you're able to stay with your husband. I used to work in Kailua while my husband was stationed there for the Army. Hickam AFB was my first choice for OCONUS. Love it there! Hello everyone, It looks like I'm not the only one who received awesome news! I too have been selected for COT in August! No duty station yet. My husband is in the Marine Corps and the recruiter said they were looking into trying to possibly put my in Hawaii with him. I am just thrilled I was selected!

I too found out that I have been switched from alternative to selected. I leave for COT in August as well!!!! I am so excited!

Hello JillRN I am a clinical nurse alternative as well. I was placed #6 on the list. I have been trying to get a hold of my recruitor since he left me the voice mail about being put on the alternative list but have been unsuccessful. It been almost two months with no contact from him. I have however been receiving calls from a recruitor in Los Angeles. We have been playing phone tag for about a month now and I am not sure why I am getting calls from a different recruiter? I know a little bit about being on the alternative list from posts on here and from research I have been doing. What I am really curious about is if being #6 on the alternative list means I will more than likely have to apply next year or if I have a good chance of being selected for COT in 2014. I was also informed buy a gentleman in the Air Force reserves that they are not doing a selection board for 2014... Anyone know if this is true? Has anyone else been having problems getting hold of their recruiters?
