  1. I honestly love both. I'm a little nervous about the OR. I'm a huge advocate for breastfeeding and would also love the education part of helping new moms. (I've learned so much through my own experience with breastfeeding). My biggest concern with either job would be to let my biases get in the way (I know, that's a huge no no) but I am worried about that because I want to do the best job I can for the patient. I keep going back and forth on this because it's such a hard decision for me.

I have just been offered a position in Mother Baby and L&D and I have to choose one...very soon! I love aspects of both and would love to hear different opinions of each. I'm a new grad and a new mom. I've heard that as a new grad it's good to start in MBU, but the L&D manager told me they often hire new grads and look at it as a good thing since I haven't picked up any "bad habits". I think that I would like the fast pace of L&D but I would also appreciate getting to spend time with patients in MBU. The orientation process for L&D will be 16 weeks vs 6 weeks in MBU. I personally had a home birth and feel that natural is best (but understand that is definitely not the majority). My long term goals would be to become a midwife and lactation consultant. Any advice/perspective is appreciated!
  3. Letters have been sent out. Did you get accepted?!?
  4. Don't stress! This is my second time applying because I didn't get accepted to the evening program. If your dream is to become a nurse, and you persevere, it will happen! We should know something by the second week of April. Fingers Crossed!
  5. Hopefully that will be enough! I have 43 points and I'm just nervously waiting on that letter. I'm just ready to get started! Maybe we can study together when we do start
  6. Hi! I am waiting to see if I got in as well. I actually called and asked what it has been in the past and was told it was 39-41 (the lady couldn't actually recall the exact number). I know it was 43 for the evening program. How many points do you have? Good Luck! Maybe we'll be together.
