  1. Thank You for your positive feed back @mstearns09 I really appreciate that. I think I'll do a great job. I have a drive to help others and I get my job done regardless of the circumstances I am under. We all have hesitations sometimes on things we have never done before that we want to do but all things can be done through Christ and determination. I look forward to taking my CNA Course this summer & Thank you for your feedback as well. @RInursingstudent
  2. I plan on getting my CNA this summer before I start college in the fall and I'm very much excited but I can't help the fact that I'm a bit worried if I'm "fit enough" I've posted a question on here about this before and got positive feedback but I'm still questionable if I'm equipped for the job because of my weight. I'm 5'4 and weigh 115pds. My question Is there a lot of small CNAs that do a good job because I know working in LTC requires lifting. I love helping people and although I've heard being a CNA in LTC is hard work I feel up to the challenge. I want to do and I'm going to try my best to succeed at it.
  3. Ahh, okay I see now. Thank You for your feedback.:)
  4. I have so many questions I could type all day long but I'm going to keep it short. I will be starting college in the fall to receive my ADN. I chose Nursing as the field to go in because I believe my purpose in life is to help people. My first option is to really consider going into L&D. I think child birth is beautiful despite that there is definitely not always happy mothers and happy babies but I want to know the REAL. I need someone to lay me with the facts and not sugar coat anything and tell me what your average day is like? What's the advantages/disadvantages of working in L&D? Does L&D hire new grads often? And is there any extra classes I should consider to take while working to receive my ADN to make me stand out on my resume? And also can RNs that work in L&D work in the nursery? I know I said ALOT. But would really appreciate it if someone laid me with the facts. I want to know exactly what I'm considering but also know that I have to experience it for myself to really know. Thank you to whom ever replies.
  5. I'll be starting college in the fall to receive my ADN &my first option is working in the L&D unit. But I don't want to be closed minded on other areas just yet. But its my first choice. I wondered if there was any RNs that work in Labor& Delivery but also work in the Nursery? Do they switch off? How does that work? If so I believe I would want to do this.
  6. Awwww thank you so much!! Your advice was the best out of all the responses I've received. I'm definately considering getting my CNA. I think its best option before I enter the health field being a RN.
  7. Wow! Sounds like a lot but can be done and mastered over time with good training. Thank you for the incite.
  8. I always wondered what all goes into being a dialysis nurse. My mom does dialysis due to having lupus now she does it from home and I'm going to college to be a nurse in august. I'm considering Labor and Delivery the most but I don't want to exclude myself from other options in the health field as well. So can someone tell me what your average day is like? Do you like your job? And do you ever get emotional knowing what your patients actually have to go through? What are your duties as a Dialysis Nurse? Thank you would help a lot.
  9. THANKYOU!!! Will definitely take your advice into consideration.
  10. Hello, I have a question for experienced CNAs. I'm a senior in high school and considering getting my CNA certificate in the summer before I start college in august to be a L&D Nurse. I love helping others and it does my heart well when I know I'm doing something good. But I have questioned being a CNA in a LTC Facility because I've heard it's a lot of lifting. Is this true? Because I weigh 117 pounds and my mom tells me my weight might not be good for the job. What should I expect? Should I not get my CNA? HELP PLEASE.
  11. Hello, I have a question for experienced CNAs. I'm a senior in high school and I have four months until I graduate. I was considering taking a CNA course and getting my certificate in the summer before I actually go into nursing college to get my RN L's in L&D. But I was wondering if getting my CNA is a good idea or not. I love helping people and my heart is warmed when I do well for others but I hear it is really hard work. And my mom says I might be too UNDERWEIGHT to be a CNA because CNAs do a lot of lifting but I weigh 117? Should I take my mothers advice and not get my certificate? HELP PLEASE
