Well all I can tell you for sure is you are asked questions r/t previous problems with drugs or alcohol when you renew your lisence. Im pretty sure you would be monitored. I have completed my 3 yrs of monitoring in July but then had to petition to be released from my contract so I must continue with drug screens, meetings, etc until then. So anxious to put this behind me

How long does it take after you sumit a petition to the BON to be released from PNAp
  3. I have been in pnap for 3 years and have abstained from drinking alcohol. I did not let paranoia run my life. I did avoid poppy seeds but i used vanilla extract in baked goods, i ate soy sauce, dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, and used hand sanitizer when soap and water wasn't available. I colored my hair, did not change hair products, mouthwash, etc and never had a positve UDS. I maintained my sobriety along with my sanity. Pnap has been a part of my life but it didnt stop me from living life.
  4. I didnt think PNAP checked etg. I thought they only screened for urine etoh
  5. I i found a job at a community health center. We have no narcotics and they were very supportive i had a lot if negative experinces but kept trying Until I found someone willing to give me a chance. Best job ever .

I'm in PNAP and only call into first lab Monday through Friday per the written instructions given to me when I started.
  7. Im also in Pnap and have been unemployed since 1/13. I have also found that when I disclose that I am in PNAP that the job offer has been rescinded I have started to find non nursing jobs because I really need to find some income. I Feel so discouraged. I guess I need to keep the faith. .
  8. I had an interview at the state psychiatric hospital and when I informed them of my participation in PNAP they rescinded their job offer. There is a small behavioral hospital in my area that I heard was recovery friendly and have interviewed there also and the DON told me she has been willing to give nurses in recovery programs a chance but her other staff has not been as receptive and accepting and it is not something she she has been able to overcome.
  9. I also have put in at least a dozen on line aps at dialysis centers and even applied for dialysis tech positions just to get a foot in the door without success. It gets discouraging sometimes.
  10. Me too. I have a great deal of shame for my actions during that time and to be honest probably would have been judgmental toword someone else prior to my addictive behaviors. But I know the sober me is a moral, compassionate, caring person and hopes that others can see that and wants nothing more to return to the profession that I love.
  11. Are the collection sites the same?
  12. I'm in PNAP too but haven't been notified yet of the lab change. When is that to start?
  13. I found out through my counselor that your 3 years doesn't start until the BON officially validates your consent agreement not when you signed the agreement or when you started your drug screens. After 3 years from that date you do have to petition the board and that could take around 3 more months to get approval. So in reality you really are under their control for at least 3 1/2 years. Be grateful that you have found employment. I have been unemployed since January 2013 despite applying for more jobs that I can count .
  14. Thanks, I'd really appreciate it. I have 13 years experience in LTC. I have applied to nursing homes, the local hospital, us renal, aetna, mental health hospitals, caron foundation, and several family clinics. I have applied to about 50 different places. Really need to to get back to work. Financially things are getting really strained. Any specifics would be greatly appreciated.
  15. Does anyone know of pnap friendly employers near Reading PA. I have been searching for employment for 10 months and despite over a dozen interviews as soon as I let them know that I'm in a monitoring program the tone of the interview abruptly changes. Any suggestions eould be greatly appreciated.
