  1. Yes, understand your doing "RN" .. I was more speaking on the fact about the staff in the admin office.. but, pointed out I loved the teachers. Very happy you got into the RN program Mrs. Debbie is the best. As for the credits, I have had a few friend's try to transfer and they had problems with their credits tranfering over. I know this isn't the case for everyone. Hope you do great in program..
  2. sorry for the confusion Tidewater Community College told me it would be best to take the CNA program to ensure I could take one of the medical programs so in August 2012 I began to take the CNA program as of February of this year I have obtainedmy certificate by taking the board exam my question was would it be best to go to go to sentara or centura to finish out as a medical assistant or Care Partner I know there is a significant difference in price I am just trying to figure out the best solution where I can be ensured job
  3. Don't go to Sallie Mae dealing with them now, they are a pain. A lot of my friends are having problems with them as well. I'd try private loan with willing co-signer as well.
  4. You can even go to Amazon.com and find stethoscope and shoes
  5. For a stethoscope the best brand is littman... you can find some good deals at allheart.com and for shoes you can go to scrubs.com they have shoes there as well.
  6. Hello All, So, I started out at Tidewater Community College in 2011, started doing my general education courses. I found out by one of teachers it is best to do the CNA program to ensure a spot in any medical field for this college. After I completed the program. I get a letter stating they want me to take even more classes. So, I have opted out of TCC and have been looking at Centura in Virgina Beach, and Sentara. I want to do a Medical Assistant program. Sentara only offers Care partner and not MA... Im trying to get feedback as school you guys felt were best in your opinion or which schools do you notice your employer accepts more so over another. I want to ensure i get the best career possible. Thanks to all that reply. Stephanie:-)
  7. oh, I would also like to add that, It is also best to call places you want to work and ask them do they hire a lot of people from TCC, a lot of these people will be happy to share information with you and let you know which colleges have the best success rate for their company. Hope this helps
  8. Hello, I have been a student of TCC since 2010, I took their CNA Program. I just wanted you guys to know who just applied. While the teachers are awesome the staff can be rather slack at times and rude. Also, While TCC is cheaper in cost beware of taken classes not needed for whatever degree you are trying to obtain. If you must take prerequisites, understand that if you are wanting to transfer not everyone takes their credits. It is best to call around colleges and to ask them if they accept their credits. Also, If you are going to Va beach campus they do not help you find a job. I heard the Chesapeake campus at times will help students. It has now been one year, I have had many interviews but no job. Just thought I'd let you know who have just applied for this class.. Also, If you are getting into any medical program they tell students it is best to do CNA that way they have a better chance into getting into any program. As it is very hard to get into any any medical program with TCC. This year I am switching and i am either going to Centura or Sentara to ensure I get a career where i am able to get a job. Good luck
