  1. I guess this would be more of me venting but general advice would be helpful. Last semester I found out that I was accepted into my colleges nursing program. My college has a paramedic-RN bridge program that interested me so I chose to follow that route. When I applied to the program, they had two options (face-to-face and online hybrid). I obviously wanted to do face-to-face but when I attended my orientation I found that they were doing away with the face-to-face bridge!!! Now... I am already struggling and I have never done an online class before. I study 5 hours each day taking 15 mins breaks when I'm fried from my studies. I read, I follow power-points, take notes, and do other outlines that are provide for us as students but I can't seem to get my head above water! The last two test I received 70's... I DON'T GET 70's! (I'm an overachiever) I never would have done the program if I knew they were changing the course to online... I feel online courses take away vital information and obviously the face-to-face interaction. Maybe it's my view of online courses. I view online courses as second-rated compared to traditional face-to-face classrooms.
  2. I got a "B" in AP2! So, that is some good news! Now I need to make sure the same happens with College Algebra! Spirit is up!
  3. I know it will be no "cake walk". I don't plan for it to be. I just have higher expectations of myself and if I don't meet them I get down about it. Example: Getting a C is NEVER acceptable to me. I do see what you're saying though. I'm working on fixing that issue in my life :)
  4. Thanks, both of you! I do appreciate the encouragement. I'm 24. I have heard from several others that it is very competitive. We have another nursing school in the area and both schools try to out match each other; so they up the bar each year.
  5. So, I am a pretty good student. I have a current GPA of 3.5 and I typically get B's and the occasional A. This semester has been really rough due to personal reasons and I am almost 90% sure I'll be getting two C's for this semester (I'm only taking 7 credit hours). Now, here is the problem... One class is AP2 and the second is College algebra... Both very important classes to do well on. I am getting my ASN at my current community college but plan to transfer to a 4 year, to earn my BSN. Everything else looks in my favor but those two grades... I am not worried about the TEAS test and my SAT scores were well. I am just concerned with those two darn C's! Do I still have a chance in getting accepted?! I'm so worried and I don't take rejection well because I already have a low self esteem. Also I am doing the paramedic to RN bridge. I am wondering if that will hold much weight.
