UTMB Accelerated Program Summer 2014
Donovan, It will probably depend on if/when you submit your FAFSA. For Summer term you need to submit the 2013-2014 FAFSA which will require your 2012 taxes. For Fall/Spring terms you need to submit the 2014-2015 FAFSA which will require your 2013 taxes to complete. UTMB requires that your FAFSA be linked to your IRS return so they know it is accurate, so essentially your taxes need to be submitted prior to your submitting the FAFSA. If you have already completed the FAFSA for 2013-2014 for Summer term you will probably have an email/financial aid to review in the next couple of weeks based on my conversations with Enrollment Services.

UTMB Accelerated Program Summer 2014
The acceptance letters appear to be giving applicants two-three weeks to accept the offer, assuming all acceptance letters follow a similar timeframe to mine. I would assume that based on this, applicants will continue to hear from UTMB for a while as people accept or decline and spots are either taken or given up. I recommend starting to collect your immunization records. Depending on where you are requesting them from it can take a few days (or longer) for state/city/county Department of Health's to receive and process your request. This is assuming that they are able to find your immunization record - if they can't you will have to try and find all of your past doctors to request it directly from them. This will prove beneficial to you for this program and any other programs you applied to once accepted. Starting now will also give you adequate time to get titers and any necessary vaccines based on those results. There are 80 spots in the course and the school said NursingCAS forwarded 150 applications that had been completed and met the application requirements prior to the deadline - so everyone has a decent chance of being accepted. I would imagine many applicants applied to multiple schools and some of them may not see UTMB as their first choice. Good luck to those still waiting to hear back! If someone wants to start a facebook page for those who have accepted an offer - I would be interested in joining.

UTMB Accelerated Program Summer 2014
I have submitted my application for the Summer 2014 program as well. I am hoping my qualifications are in line with everyone else's. For the 60+ credits of prerequisites, I have all A's except for 1 B. I took the Teas and got an 88. When I took the Teas it said the national average was under 60 and the school average was around 70. I emailed UTMB a few months ago to ask questions about graduation rates, acceptance rates, etc. They said they have a 90-100% pass rate on the NCLEX for their graduates depending on the graduating class. In 2012 the pass rate was 96%. Since some have asked on here - They said that the GPA and TEAS scores that are competitive are dependent on the quality of the applicants for that class however they usually view an 80 TEAS and a 3.4 GPA to be competitive. They accept 80 students and last year they waitlisted 10 students. They usually have over 350 applicants, of which approximately 300 meet the minimum qualifications. Good luck to those of you who are interviewing this week! I did not submit my application until Nov 14 (the day before the deadline) and have not heard anything from the school yet. My application is listed as complete it MyStar, so I am just waiting optimistically to either be accepted or to be invited for an interview. I have applied at UTHSC for the Summer 2014 start date as well though UTMB is my preferred choice.
