  1. Hi everyone, I have been on the fence for completing the WHNP program, I'm currently in, vs. switching to acute care. My background is in critical care and made the switch to women's health because I had bad experiences in 2 of my pregnancies. I thought I could make an improvement in some areas in OB. I am wondering though as a WHNP, will I be stuck with GYN cases all day. If anyone is a WHNP, are their positions where the NP takes care of just OB patients? Do WHNP's work in the hospital? I have been thinking of making the switch to acute care because I don't want to be stuck doing GYN cases and also I don't have any experience in women's health/OB. I was also wondering what the current salary is for WHNP, I looked on some websites and they stated any where from $85,000-100,000. Thanks for your input.
