  1. State is coming soon to the LTC facility that I work at and I am just wondering what are some tips for doing med pass in front of a surveyor. I am a new nurse only have been in orientation for 4 days so I'm hoping that they won't want me working while state is there being that I am new and will most likely forget something but just in case I do work when state is there I'm just looking for advice from others who have gone through this or are going to go through this.
  2. I just started training as a nurse. I am going on my forth day tomorrow and I am having crazy anxiety!!! I keep thinking what if I make a med error or forget to do something and how long is it going to take me until I really get the hang of things because with having to learn all the paper work for everything I just feel completely lost. I keep thinking am I ever going to catch on, what if I'm not smart enough to do this or just crazy thoughts. I love being a nurse but have such fear of making a mistake especially a serious one:/ I go home thinking all kinds if crazy things and it even keeps me up at night sometimes. What is some good advice to helping with this anxiety because I feel like I'm going to have a breakdown:(
  3. yes I definitely believe it helped me with how to answer NCLEX questions. That and ATI is what helped me the most with questions.
  4. yes it is that one:)
  5. Yesterday I took the NCLEX PN and got the good pop up!!! I am so happy!!! So after reading everyone's experience which has help me I thought I should post mine:) nursing school wasn't easy for me we'll really just med surg. I was a B student and had to study a lot but I was determined and passed:) Throughout the entire year our school had us use ATI which I believe was very helpful. At the end we had to take a predictor test which we needed to pass with a 90% and I got an 88%. I was devastated but studied hard and the second time I passed with a 95% chance of passing NCLEX. After I graduated in December I scheduled my test for January 9 but felt that it wasn't enough time so I rescheduled for January 21. So my plan was to buy the ncsbn 3 week course and do that but I felt it was a lot of content and I wanted more questions so I didn't finish it. Honestly I didn't really focus completely on studying until about 3 days before my exam. What I used mainly was exam cram. I did about 500+ questions and mainly used the cd that came with it. I did a little ATI but not really since we did all the tests in school and I could remember the answers. I had Saunders but did very few questions with the cd I liked exam cram more. Before my 3 days of cramming I also used PN flash cards. I did the whole book and I read the Kaplan strategies, I had the 2012-2013 book. What helped me the most is the studyquide which is being used on this site. I don't have the link for it someone printed it for me. I found it very helpful. My test stopped at 85 questions!!! I still can't believe it!!! Good luck to everyone who has to take the NCLEX:)
  6. Thanks!! That information was very helpful. I ended up changing my test day to january 21 so that I can take the 3 week course:)
  7. How many of you who took this course think it helped you on the nclex? I graduated December 19 and I have my test date for next week January 9 but really not sure if I'm ready. I am debating on taking the 3 week course because I need to take my test by the end if january and was thinking maybe after taking that course and doing some more studying I would feel better prepared. Any opinions or suggestions would help. Thanks.
  8. My att came the day after I graduated.
  9. For those of you who already have taken the nclex or are going to how long did you wait? I was planning on taking my nclex 2 weeks after I graduated but now I'm thinking maybe I should wait a month for more study time. Also what did you or are you going to use to study for the nclex?
  10. So I just wanted to do an update and say that I passed the predictor the second time with a 95%!!!! My graduation is today!! I'm really nervous and excited!!! After this weekend I will start studying for the nclex!!!:)
  11. I am really nervous about taking an ATI exit exam that is required for my school. You have 2 chances to take it before you graduate and I already failed the first time by 1 or 2 questions and I am trying to figure out what is the best way to study for the retake in the week that I have left. Have you found it more helpful to study focused review or taking the practice tests?
