I am a new grad NP, and I am in a bit of a mess. I appreciate your help, and hope that you will reserve your judgment and refrain from beating me up. I graduated in May. Went out and celebrated. My husband was supposed to come pick me up afterward and drive me home. Long story short, I wasn't able to get a hold of him, and made the BIGGEST mistake of my life. I got in the car and I drove. I got a DUI that night (just a day after graduating). I know that people will say that I must be an alcoholic, and that i could have killed someone. Trust me, I have beat myself up more than any of you can even imagine. I know better. It was idiotic beyond comprehension. I made a TERRIBLE mistake. I am paying for it dearly. I have finally landed my dream job, and am getting ready to start the credentialing process at the hospital. I am on probation for one year. Obviously, I am concerned about getting credentialed. If anyone has any advice (other than to bash me), I'd really and truly appreciate it. I know I made a mistake. I am hoping I didn't ruin my whole life. Please IM me if you don't want to comment on here. I really really could use some advice.
