Does anyone not have roommates??

Thanks so much for your input! It was not as competitive as I expected, I'm from and went to school in the Deep South. I have a 3.88 GPA with sigma theta tau and other honors such as that and I did an externship between my last 2 years of BSN nursing school, I didn't think I stood a chance but have gotten 2 job offers from there!

I am thinking about accepting a job as a new grad for a July start date in an ICU. I am deciding between moving to Charlottesville or a job in DC. What are yalls thoughts on both? I'm 22 and want to have a good time and meet people. I know Cville is smaller than DC obviously but UVA is a level 1 trauma center which is important to me, and the hospital in DC is not.. I love DC, but I love the unit at UVA. Thoughts PLEASE????

I haven't heard anything, I think it depends on which unit you interviewed for.. They told me like 2-3 weeks ?

When you reply to the email with the date you want to interview how fast does it take for them to confirm your time with you??

Yes! I have an interview next week! When do you hear if you get the position or not?? Also, what was the interview set up like and what kind of questions did they ask you??

I submitted my application packet last Friday and I got an email yesterday saying we will be contacted by the last week of February with next steps. I am talking to a girl who did the program last year and she heard last week of January and interview mid-Feb, so I all I'm gathering is that we'll hear in February haha, who knows!

Same! They did the same thing last year apparently, and they all found out on the 28th! so I'm thinking we'll hear friday or monday

Where did you do your 3 month externship?? I did an externship in NC in the adult PACU, although I'm doing my capstone/preceptorship in either the cardiac or surgical ICU (which is what I want to do), so I put my interest in ICU! What did y'all think of the battery test?

ahhhh really?? I'm freaking out now.. what time did you talk to them today? So all the email is going to say is that we're going to hear by the 30th?

No! I applied on November 27th and took the battery test the 28th and haven't heard anything.. I looked at last years thread and they heard on the 28th and some the 30th so I'm hoping we hear this Friday or Monday, anyone else heard anything?

"All new grads are hired into the new grad program. Each unit does their own thing for training on the floor but you guys will all go through new grad classes as a group. My best advice for you guys is to go down to HR and drop your application off in person. Their computer system is delayed (I received an email saying I wasn't hired for a position after being on my unit at UVA for almost 6months). I personally know 3 people that were hired by going down to HR and dropping their application." I live in NC, so I could easily drive up and do this. You think it's worth it?? How could someone from HR hire us? Isn't it the nurse manager's decision??

I know!!! I called HR today and someone said we wouldn't be called for an interview until January??
