Transferring to another state
Hello All, I have a question about how to transfer to another state. I'm graduating from a Southern California junior college program as am RN. With the high competition here getting a job, and many years of being a poor single parent in school... I need to work. I have gotten offers in Montana and Idaho. My question is, once I settle on where to go (I'm not staying here) should I just take the boards there? If so, how do I do that? Or can I do that after I've received my education here? Advice is welcome- thank you so much!

Charge Nurse
Hello Everyone, I want to say thank you to all of you who share your experiences on this site. I have been in nursing school for almost 2 years and I frequently check in here for tips and support. My question is for those of you who have been in leadership positions, how much bedside experience did you have before you were assigned as a charge nurse? I am about to graduate from and ADN program. I have noticed several people in the charge position or taking students that are relatively new nurses. What is the standard where you work? Thank you!

About to Graduate
Hello Everyone, I want to say thank you to all of you who share your experiences on this site. I have been in nursing school for almost 2 years and I frequently check in here for tips and support. I am writing today to glean from you all about the nerves creeping up related to entering the workforce. I am about to graduate from an ADN program and am set to finish the BSN at a local university. I am located in southern California where it is very competitive for new grads to be placed in hospital positions. After much exploration in the nursing school journey, I would like to seek a position in the OR. However, I am a single parent and find that I also need to start working as soon as possible. My concern is if I take a clinic position, is it then too difficult to be considered for any acute employment? I welcome your thoughts and experiences!
