Hello I am a new nurse (like 3 weeks) and i just found out I brought a med (just one tab of Adderall) home! My patient needed 6 tables of Adderall total and we only had 1 in the med machine so i pulled it out and sent a message to pharmacy for more. I got crazy busy after that and my shift was over. My preceptor said she also saw that there was no adderall in the machine so she sent a msg to pharmacy too. (We were kinda sharing patients) Anyway, i got home and found that one adderall in my pocket! I dont know what to do. I will look stupid if i call the unit saying i brought home a medication but i will feel bad if i dont do anything about it. It's not a controlled substance or anything though,, should i just mention it to the manager tomorrow?

Hello! I am a new grad nurse and I am having a hard time finding a job in Florida. I've applied every RN positions I saw and still nothing. Even though I applied to LTCs. doctor's offices and whatnots, I would like to work at a hospital and I am not sure how far I would commute for a job. My boyfriend has a good, stable job here and he said he would quit and move to another area if I find a hospital job there but I don't want him to sacrifice his job for me. (plus, he makes more money that I would at a hospital) If I find a job that's like two hours away, we could possibly move to an area that's in the middle of where we are now and where my job is but the cost of moving, find a new house and everything is just too much! anybody driving more than an hour? two hours? maybe three hours? I think I can do up to two hours if I am really desperate..

you are right. it's all about networking. I did talk to my preceptor in the L/D floor and she said in order to get into that hospital I have to do the residency program first. I didn't meet the director not even once because I worked nights..

hello, everyone! I graduated with BSN in May 2013 and I just started looking for a job recently. I was in no position to find a job right away after graduation due to some family issues. I thought this was a great time to find one because of the season but it has been just miserable so far. I would apply to different positions for a hospital (that says 'experience preferred', not required) and I get rejections emails the next day. I am even wondering if the HR people ever read my resume... I know some people have been looking for a job for months and months and it's been only a little over one month for me but it's just so frustrating!!! First, I was only looking at the hospitals around my area (SW florida) and since I got rejection emails from almost every position I've applied to, now I don't even mind where I go as long as it's in Florida!! I am going to apply for every position I see including LTC, doctor's offices, residency programs and whatnots.. I just wanted to vent............ please wish me luck!!! and anybody on this forum looking for a job in Florida, good luck!!
