I had so much to do at the school I forgot to ask about personal health insurance. I know it's really nothing compared to health insurance, the white shoes and wrist watches don't have to be purchased at Belle Uniforms. Also, their 2 garment minimum is just a whole top + bottom. They don't require us to get a second pair (completely optional).

I hope we don't need health insurance... we have so much on our plates already. I haven't had any issues with registering. I signed up for 601, but I got my acceptance letter and a couple sheets of information on saturday and it said that I had to be signed up for 601 and only 601. I think this is similar to what happened to Bsocarras before when she had to sign up for 602. Anyway I'm going in to school today to ask a bunch of questions- if I get any interesting or needed info, I'll share.

Hello fellow 601 :) About the $108 for the total pantsuit, that's what the lady on the phone told me. Regarding the shoes and watch- I'd hope not. It's severely overpriced and white shoes and a nice watch wouldn't go over $20-$30 if you bought them anywhere else. Also if anyone hasn't seen the rules about the uniforms: UNIFORM POLICY Uniforms are to be purchased through Belle Uniforms. Students are expected to be properly attired and act in a professional manner according to the following regulations when in the clinical agency. Students improperly attired will not be admitted to the clinical agency and will be considered absent for that day. The Uniform Code is as follows: -Students are expected to wear the regulation white Bergen Community College Uniform. -Female students may choose dress and/or pant suit uniforms. -Male nursing students wear white trousers and a white clinical top. -A white jacket with the Bergen Community College Patch is an optional item which may be worn over the uniform for warmth. -Uniforms are to be clean and in good repair. -White or skin tone underwear, without logos, should be worn underneath the uniform. -Uniforms are to be of a reasonable length. -Shoes are to be clean, all white, with rubber soles, and good support. -White or flesh tone stockings or white socks are to be worn with the uniform pants. White or flesh tone stockings are to be worn with the dress uniform. -Hair should be neatly arranged so that it does not fall on the face of hang over the shoulders. No elaborate hair fasteners or hair bands are allowed. No extreme hair styles or extreme colors. -Religious headwear is permitted, however, the full face must be seen. -No rings other than a wedding band may be worn with the uniform. -Only one pair of tiny round earrings for pierced ears may be worn and no other body piercing jewelry is allowed. No other jewelry is permitted. -Nails must be short, clean, and well-manicured. Only clear or light color nail polish will be acceptable. -No artificial nails of any kind. -Make-up, when worn, must be applied subtly. Tattoos, where possible, should be covered -A regulation name pin will be worn on the left side of the uniform. -Bandage scissors, black or blue pen, penlight, stethoscope, and wrist watch with a second hand are required equipment. -Perfume or colognes are not to be worn. -- I'm also not too sure about the books. We're supposed to just pick one out of all the listed? Either way, I'm going to wait until the first class, which will be pharmacology for 601 and see what she wants us to do about the books. Some teachers always give out photocopies of lectures, or don't really require one- so yeah.. I'm def going to be waiting it out. Books are last on my list

I registered for the 601 only because professor ******** had a high rating on rate my professor Anyone know what they're going to do? Class funds are roughly about $2,500 All of the insurance, uniforms, kit, stethoscope, etc come out to be about $900. Not to mention the books.. which will cost probably about $500 or more... How is everyone else going to work with these fees?
-
Bergen Community Collge RN-Evening program 2014
Yeah.. the books are really expensive Also- it says in the information packet that we need to wear " * MINIMUM 2 GARMENTS IN ANY COMBINATION * " Does that include pantsuit with white shoes or what? I totally don't get what two garments are included in the combination :/

Â**3Mâ„¢ Littmann® Classic II S.E. Stethoscope, Black Tube, 28 inch, 2201: 3Mâ„¢ Littmann® Stethoscopes: 3M US It's a 3M Littmann Classic II S.E. Stethoscope I have this one. It can range from $50 to $80. After doing a lot of research, this is the best stethoscope for student nurses, RNs, etc.

Thanks. $80 is so much better than $110 from RC. I got my stethoscope from Litmann's. This is probably the only thing I won't skimp on since I'd probably be using this for a long time- and a good quality stethoscope is a lot better than a cheap one where I can't hear anything or it'll break quickly.
