Yes, I applied on-line and it was pretty easy. It is fast and convenient. They also waive the application fee($35.00) when you apply on-line. so, it's no bad. :)

Try CMSV, they offer a BSN-evening program for second degree students in Manhattan @St. vincent Med Ctr on 52nd St. I've been accepted there and starting in the Fall. If you want to start in the Fall of 05 you may still have the time to apply. My name is Merry and I will be joining you at CMSV. I got my acceptance letter in the mail this weekend. The info you provided is very helpful. If you don't mind, do you know of any good professors for CHEM I & II. I will be registering for Chem I in the Fall and CHEM II in the Spring. And also, if you don't mind, professors for NUR 103, Pathophysiology, Pharmphysiology and also NUR 250. Thanks again for everything. We such keep in touch. Merry

From what I understood, It takes you two years with the prereq's and three years without. I spoke to the School of Nursing Director in the Mid-town office and that is what she told me. However, if you are missing some of their prereq's you'll have to take them during the Fall and Spring semesters and yes, you are right, clinicals for students starting this Fall will start next year September. But, think of it like this, what schools are you going to find acceptance to at these time of the year, if you have not yet applied to the school. If you have applied to schools and waiting for replies do so, but have CMSV as a last alternative, b/c with alot of the programs clincials starts next year, if you have not yet applied to their program. So think about it. Unless if you already have all of CMSV prereq's, then it's best to look else where, b/c it would be a waste of time. Question: Is it best, in your opinion to attend a school that starts clinicals right away, especially for us Second Degree students? Am having this problem b/c I am a Pace Graduate and would like to resume studies with them as a nursing major, it will take me three years also, but I'll be starting clincals in September, unlike CMSV.

Just was curious to know about the school, although I got soon of the info you provided to Moonberry, I had some questions of my own. I also wanted to let you know that, before I became a registered member to allnurses.com the info that you provided to other members of this forum helped me in making a descision on nursing school. As a Second Degree student rom Pace Univ, Psyc major student. This year I've been rejected by Stony Brook and The College of New Rochelle. Last year I was accepted to Wagner College, accelerated nursing prog, but postponed my acceptance,due to other issues in my life. Before reading your postings, I was just focused on atteding an accelerated program, but I knew that this would not be convenient for me, but b/c I knew of other people that were applying to accelerated programs I felt that was the best for me at the time. Everyone I know were rushing to complete the program, as fast as they could, so I wanted to do the some. To complete an accelerated program I was going to take some time off work, but later reading your responses to other members noticed that going to Nursing school for 3 years and taking my time to complete it, is the best choice that I could ever make. You encouraged me. I currently work part-time, so I am getting ready for Nursing school. Anyways, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! Questions about CMSV: How is the program, is it really hard ? I remembr reading a question you asked a member who was a graduate of CMSV and this member stated that the program was hard and many student dropped out during clinicals. I know you have not started your clincal classes yet, but how are your other classes? How is the Chemistry class and Development Psyc course. all I have to take is the second half of these classes, If I get accepted. Hopefully!!!!!!! How supportive are the professors of the program, in making sure that students succeed in the program? How are faculity members? I am debating on attending Pace university as well, being that I am a graduate and have all of the core classes, but I don't what to go to Westshester everyday. I live in Queens, so want something closer to home. So what's your opinion Pace or CMSV

How long did it take for you to get an acceptance letter once you applied? I was just notified, this week, that my transcripts have gone to the Nursing Dept for review of my transcripts/credit evaluation. So, I wanted to know how long after that would I get a letter from the school? I spoke to the Director of Admission and he told me based on his review of my file, that he requested that I should be considered for acceptance to the Nursing Program, but he told me that it all depends on the Nursing Dept, so I was curious as what happened with you. Thanks
