Presentation ideas?
I have to do a project about the pathophysiology and manifestations of altered level of consciousness. I want to do something different. Everyone did powerpoint and its soooo boring. Literally everyone in class is sleeping, including the teacher. I wanted to do something like a video (sketch?), maybe act it out? I don't know how we would act out the PP and manifestations. I want it to be fun and would like to add some humor but I can't think of anything for the life of me! Any ideas?

Hyperglycemia vs. Hypoglycemia
Thank you all!

Hyperglycemia vs. Hypoglycemia
hmmm I guess you're right. Do you remember how high their sugar levels were?
-
Hyperglycemia vs. Hypoglycemia
I think hypoglycemia... I read that the brain uses 25% of the body's glucose and if the patient was not able to get enough, they would slip into a coma. I've seen A lot of patients with high blood sugar levels but I've never seen a patient who is hypoglycemic (weird, right?)

Hyperglycemia vs. Hypoglycemia
Which one is scarier to see, hypoglycemic patient or hyperglycemic?

Psycho Psych Instructor
I love psych courses as well as my other psych teachers. I have never had any problems with any other instructor. Far from it. I have a really good relationship with all of them but this one psych teacher really got under my skin. lol I'm glad shes gone.

Psycho Psych Instructor
I actually did say this to her face. She is currently suspended from teaching at my university because of all the complaints and she also got in a huge argument with 2 other students. I would say she is the unprofessional. I'm just writing about my terrible experience. No names were used. Thanks for the feedback. (Removed my pic)

Psycho Psych Instructor
I had this psych instructor who taught us a communication course. At first she was super nice and I totally loved her! That didn't last very long, the lady is INSANE! I'm studying in an Arab country and while the material and exams are in English, most of the time the students and instructors speak in Arabic. I understand 98% of the time, my only problem is when I speak Arabic, I have a hard time expressing what I want to say. (They don't understand my English because I speak so fast and have an american accent). So anyway, this instructor makes us sit in a circle and basically talk about our "feelings" for almost 3 hours. I believe I was in my 2nd semester and I was totally shy and my arabic wasn't that good so I stayed quiet. In the beginning I got away with it, but then she noticed me and tried to get me to talk. I wouldn't say more than 2 sentences, so after that I became like a target to her. I dreaded my communication course! She would put me on the spot constantly and I would have to answer with my broken Arabic (My Arabic has improved so much since then, thank god lol) It was humiliating. At the end of the course we have to do a presentation, I was with 2 other people and she gave us a date for our presentation at the beginning of the semester so we would be prepared. Our date was on a Thursday. On Wednesday, 8 days before our presentation she announces that my group will be doing our presentation tomorrow! We weren't even close to being ready. So I automatically yell out "You told us we have till next Thursday!" She says "I change my mind." I'm furious. I scream "It's not fair!" "It's not fair??! How dare you!" (apparently she didn't like that sentence) We are yelling back and forth, mind you, we are still in the middle of class. The students were behind her making 'Ruba DONT' faces because there is no winning with her. In the end, she put a hand in front of my face (SO RUDE) and basically told me to shut up before she fails me. I totally cried! hahaha Not because I was scared from failing , but I WANTED TO HAVE THE LAST WORD! She gave me a 0/20 in my evaluation *insert cuss word of choice here* BUT I got a B in the class because I did well in the exams. YAY I DIDN'T FAIL! In your face psycho psych instructor! That is my horrible experience with a crazy instructor. Whats yours?

Nursing Diagnosis Help! Anemia
No ABG's done. Just Platelets and WBC (which are both normal). She was quite pale, that is all. The medical staff didn't seem concerned about it. She was being released the same day. So confused!!

Nursing Diagnosis Help! Anemia
What do you guys think? Am I missing something? I'm not really sure about the nursing diagnosis... Risk for infection related to site for organism invasion secondary to invasive procedure (episiotomy) 1. Monitor for signs of infection (as well as teach patient sign of infection): Redness, swelling, and increased pain at site of incision Elevated temperature Fever of up to 38° C suggests infection 2. Monitor white blood count. (Rising WBC indicates body's efforts to fight pathogens) 3. Teach patient how to reduce risk of infection: Educate patient proper care of perineal and lady partsl area. Teach patient to clean from front to back to prevent contamination of incision. Patient may clean lady partsl area with normal saline. Advise patient to keep area dry and practice frequent change in pads. Emphasize the importance of hand washing technique. Short Term goal: After two hours of interventions the client will be able to verbalize health teachings and demonstrate at least 3 ways on how to prevent infection Long term goal: After one day of interventions patient will remain free of infection, as evidenced by normal WBC count, temp
