  1. Hello. I am a student nurse, and have a question for you. I'd like to hear some of your views on professional nursing organizations, such as NSNA (National Student Nurses Association) and others. Have you or did you find organizations to be a worthwhile investment? What kinds of things do they offer you that you like? Did you use their services when looking for a new job? And, did you find that participating in an organization actually helped to further your career in any way? What are the organizations that are worth having on your resume? Thank you.
  2. This is for my ethics class. I am doing a paper on premature infants, the age of viability, and the ethics of how far we should go. I am looking for any good resources, articles, etc, even personal accounts. Please contact me via pm, or via a posting here. Thank you in advance for your help. Christal
  3. Hello future coworkers! I am 40 years old and in my local community college for the ADN program for my RN. I intend on going on for my BSN or MSN degree thereafter. I have been married to my wonderful sweetie for 18 years and we have two children, ages 10 & 14. My oldest, Emily, was a premie and was only 2 lbs and 4 oz. She was in a NICU for a couple of weeks and the on to a stepdown unit to feed and grow. She is beautiful and healthy and in all advanced classes. All of the jobs I've ever held outside of my home have been in a hospital. I was a nurses aid, a registration clerk, and a data processor. When my daughter was in the NICU, I was very inspired by the NICU nurses and said that if I ever had the opportunity to get a career for myself, that's what I'd like to do. Well, that opportunity has come. I am in my 2nd semester of prenursing courses. I have a 4.0 GPA so far. I even got an A in Microbiologn and it was so hard being out of school for 20 years. But I LOVE school. I wish I had not waited all these years!!! Oh, anyways, I've still got time to make a difference right? Can anyone here please tell me what I can expect on the NET which I will be taking in November at my school. A fellow classmate gave me a NET study guide by David Frost, but the students say that it is only helpful to a small degree. Any info you can provide is much appreciated. Thank you.
