Hello future coworkers! I am 40 years old and in my local community college for the ADN program for my RN. I intend on going on for my BSN or MSN degree thereafter. I have been married to my wonderful sweetie for 18 years and we have two children, ages 10 & 14. My oldest, Emily, was a premie and was only 2 lbs and 4 oz. She was in a NICU for a couple of weeks and the on to a stepdown unit to feed and grow. She is beautiful and healthy and in all advanced classes. All of the jobs I've ever held outside of my home have been in a hospital. I was a nurses aid, a registration clerk, and a data processor. When my daughter was in the NICU, I was very inspired by the NICU nurses and said that if I ever had the opportunity to get a career for myself, that's what I'd like to do. Well, that opportunity has come. I am in my 2nd semester of prenursing courses. I have a 4.0 GPA so far. I even got an A in Microbiologn and it was so hard being out of school for 20 years. But I LOVE school. I wish I had not waited all these years!!! Oh, anyways, I've still got time to make a difference right? Can anyone here please tell me what I can expect on the NET which I will be taking in November at my school. A fellow classmate gave me a NET study guide by David Frost, but the students say that it is only helpful to a small degree. Any info you can provide is much appreciated. Thank you.
