  1. Hi, I was arrested when I was 18 for a class B misdemeanor theft charge. I am currently on probation and Im almost about to successfully finish. I have finished taking my hesi A2 and made an 88% on it. My gpa stands above a 3.0. I am finished with all my nursing prerequisites and applied to UTMB nursing. I had to put on the application that I had been arrested for theft. I was wondering if anyone knows whether my application will be disqualified from the applicants. I would like to explain myself, if possible, to the committee if I could get a chance. The time that it happened, my father was in a post surgery coma for four months and we were not doing financially well. I did not like to ask my mother for money and didnt have a job at the time. I made a stupid mistake and got caught for it. I only wish I could take back what I did because it has tremendously effected my life and I have been paying for it for so long now. It is devastating that this could potentially ruin my dreams of becoming a nurse. If anyone has any information on what I could do at this point I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you.
