  1. Hi Loriangel14 Thank you for your response - I am getting really mixed informations. Last month I was in the US and had an appointment with an Immigration attorney who told me the opposite, that there is a need for foreign trained nurses in the US, but that the administration of it and the paperwork /Visa system was not adequate to meet the demands. It was from this man that I got the advice to contact a Recruiting company. I am a bit doubtfull of chosing a "middel-link"company, as it is difficult to check for fraud. So I will probably follow your advice and do the process on my own, validation of credentials, fit the recuriments of BON, pass the NCLEX and then try to find an employer.
  2. Hi, I am doing some recearch on how to enter The US as a RN and would like to hear if any of you have som experiences with recruiting companies that you would like to share? On the internet I easily find (long) lists of International RN recruiters, but when I try to take contact, quiet a lot of them do not respond back or seem to not exist anymore. I have had some constructive contact to two companies - Assignment America and Avant HealthCare and are still awaiting response from others. I would like to know if the companies are applying the same conditions and requirements or if they differ a lot. Is there at all nurses who get recruited this way at all?
  3. Hi Sam I am not working in France, but I have a french boyfriend and is curious to hear where you are working and how it is possible to be an englishspeaking nurse in France? I am danish, and have always thought that it was impossible to get a job in France because of the language.
  4. Is H1b the only way to for a foreign traind RN to get a working Visa in the US or is there any other ways?
  5. Thanks for the answer and information! I was not aware of the fact that LPN will not meet the VISA requirements... It is a bit challenging to navigate in all the informations about VISA requirements, Validation of credentials, License and registration. So what you say Silverdragon, is that in order to fit the requirements for a VISA eigther a H1b or a immigrant, I would have to apply as a registred nurse? My reason for wanting to apply as a LPN is that I the last 7-8 years have been working part time as a nurse (12 hours a week) because of some practical cirkumstances. This way I do not feel completely up front with nursing practice and the thought of working as a RN in USA was a bit overwhelming for me, as there maybe is other rules, standards and rutines for RN in USA than in Denmark. I will try to look more into the VISA requirements. Thanks again
  6. Hi everybody I am a danish registred nurse. My family and I are thinking about relocating to Florida and are now trying to figure out the best way to do this. I have looked into the process of optaining licensens as a RN /LPN and have come to the conclusion that as a foreign educated nurse comming from a very different health care system than the US, I would maybe be better off with applying for Licence to LPN as a start. Do any of you have experience with other foriegn trained nurses who have gone this way? Thank you in advance
