I'm seriously debating to drop anatomy class
When do you plan to transfer? I think if you decide to withdraw the class, it only means that you are saving your grade to use this time to study until you are ready to take anatomy in the next semester/quarter. Getting a withdrawal is way better than getting a low score that may improve chances of getting into the program. I don't think you should be concerned if you end up having a C because it may be entirely acceptable depending on the school, but you also want to excel in the TEAS exam just to be sure that you know your terminology before you transfer into the program. I am pretty sure if you have one C, it is not a problem. However, you still should study hard and focus on your science prerequisites along the way. But I can see that you are working really hard just as I am, so I give props for you on that! So keep working hard and everything will pay off in the end!

I feel like I'm not going anywhere in Nursing!!!
How was CSUEB like? When you mentioned that you graduated from the institution, it was probably that transfer/freshman applicants had a lower GPA at the time, and as the years progress, I knew that the average GPA may raise higher than the previous year? I never took the TEAS test, but I think you must take that during the fall, so I will take that the following fall. However, I am so nervous about taking the TEAS exam because I wonder if I will score high enough to compensate my GPA as I did not get any volunteer hours to make my application stand out! >_> Grrr! I liked how you mentioned SJSU because I live like a few blocks from the school, and that is pretty crazy since I was considering it as my last resort school as I would like to get out of the city for exploring the subarbs..hehe. But as I said before, I will go to any school that admits me! SJSU only has like 60 seats, but they get around 200+ applicants. I mean if you have one B in your anatomy class, you should be fine. I am the one struggling as I am getting two B's on my transcript and I don't know what I might get in microbiology. I will have an alternative major as I must rethink plan B since it really is tough deciding what to do with your life, especially if you can't get into nursing. :/ I'm just not sure if I may stand out because what if there are many students with the exact GPA and score as me? Must I be the alternative meaning I am on the waitlist until someone decides to withdrew from entering the program? You are right, most schools are having me let go of my dreams and that is why I felt that I have no hope for getting into any nursing program, or else, i must flip burgers for the rest of my life if i cannot find a stabilized job. I just suck at chemistry and thats why I am getting B's in those courses. How many B's are allowed in the transcript to be considered besides excelling on the TEAS test?

I feel like I'm not going anywhere in Nursing!!!
I would've attended straight into a four year university, but I can't afford to pay tuition and fees, yet my family cannot afford to help me pay off for my education since they make less than $25,000K per year. I plan to get a BSN because there are more job opportunities where you could climb the ladder, such as being a travel nurse, case manager, public health nurse, and many more options. I am from the Bay Area, so the nursing programs are highly competitive over here---especially the ADN degree, but it isn't as bad. I just know that there are some schools I want to attend any BSN program California like CSU Long Beach, Sacramento State, or just anywhere that can accept me--- I will go! I just feel that there is no chance because most schools are like "Getting lower than a 3.8 will not guarantee you a spot since there are way more applicants than seats available." Who knows with my current GPA (3.6) will go lower if I take Microbiology or remain the same? :/ Buuuut, I am willing to go out of state whether they will accept me or not! As you mentioned Memphis and the South, it is worth a shot, but I still want to keep my options open. I do anticipate on heading back to California and become an RN there.

I feel like I'm not going anywhere in Nursing!!!
I found out it was a Catholic school, and I am a Buddhist. The issue is that my parents will probably blow off a storm as if I was betraying my own religion. T.T Do you need a public speaking class cause I took fundamentals of oral communication which included group presentations? :/

I feel like I'm not going anywhere in Nursing!!!
Sorry for the misunderstanding! I am currently taking Survey of Organic/Biochemistry and I had a B+ in Survey of Inorganic/Organic Chemistry.

I feel like I'm not going anywhere in Nursing!!!
Well Im not taking the actual organic chemistry course, it is more like intro to organic/biochemistry. It is indeed a tough class and I am just trying to apply to schools that are willing to accept me. I mean, I'm just stressing about my GPA and B's in prior to nursing school is like a big fat F on my book. Seriously, I'm probably going to get another B in microbiology since I never heard of any of the students from my community college ever earning a solid A. Nursing schools in California are overcrowding the student population and my best bet is to probably apply out of state since I have no chance receiving a BSN in California... or maybe go for an alternative major, which I dont know yet. AHHH.

I feel like I'm not going anywhere in Nursing!!!
I am currently feeling discouraged because the counselors at my school are telling me that there is no way that I can follow my dreams with this form of GPA. I called up several nursing programs and they are telling me that if I do not have a 3.8+ GPA then I should not bother applying. I am in my second year attending a local community college in California and I am currently working several prerequisites until I transfer into a four year university. My problem is chemistry and I suck at it. No matter how hard I try, I am not receiving A's for that course, but rather I am getting a B. I took inorganic chemistry and got a B+ and I am currently taking organic chemistry and it is crazy hard! I am nearly pulling off getting a solid B, but I want to strive for an A. If I struggle with chemistry, there is no way that I can survive microbiology because it was a big killer for many students! I currently have a 3.5-3.6 overall GPA and I feel there are so many students who are way smarter than me that are getting into the program---just like a snap. I don't know what else to do if I do not get accepted? I wish I could retake my chemistry courses but my school does not allow that unless you receive a D or F. I plan to apply to 8+ schools that also include CSU's and several out of states and see if they would accept me? Again, I am avoiding SFSU and CSU East Bay because this is what they told me and I was discouraged hearing those words from them. I was wondering what can happen if I do not get accepted to the program and what should I do? What are your stories with nursing school when you were applying? I would love to hear them since I am new to this website so I would like more input on pre-nursing students!
