I am an adult student who is just at the beginning of my journey of becoming a nurse. I have been a wife, mother, grandmother, and now I have the desire in my heart to become a nurse, someone who can use her knowledge to help others and to make a difference. When I was a little girl, I was never afraid of going to the doctor. I looked forward to seeing the doctor and the nurses because I remember that I felt a sense of comfort and care. I want to be that kind of nurse, where I can make a patient's visit more pleasant and that they feel comfortable and assured that I am their advocate for their health care. I am interested in how a nurse can make a difference in how a patient views his hospital stay,the quality of his patient care, and and his feeling I, as a nurse, was concerned for his welfare and well-being. Do you think a nurse can make a difference with how someone heals, or copes with an illness? Do you think a nurse with a friendly personality can help a patient have good thoughts about the hospital they are being cared for at? I think a nurse can do both of these things. By being well educated, capable, and caring can make a difference in the lives of patients.
