  1. Some people just don't like it because ltc is their home and you don't wanna make em seem like they're gross or something because that's how the resident may feel. You have to make them feel comfortable. But thanks for the comment
  2. I go pee...? haha I don't know no one ever really takes a dump in public places at least I'm not there long enough to smell it. Unless its those nasty bathrooms that never get cleaned and smell but. When my mom poops and I use the bathroom right after i always spray like a lot of perfume..
  3. Do you get used to like the odor of having to take a resident to the bathroom? like number 2..? Lol I'm at clinicals and I can't stand the smell i wanted to puke but I didn't tell them anything. Can I wear a mask while doing that or would that make them feel bad?
  4. I'm halfway done with my CNA class and I also want to work in a hospital but I don't think it's possible/likely for me so I'm planning on just working at LTC till i finish college to work at a hospital. Is there a certain kind of RN that is specialized for like hospitals?
  5. Do you know how often they have these episodes? like I'm guessing some may have it a couple times a day or do they have it like once a day or once every few hours? I'm also guessing it depends on the severity of their condition?
  6. Yeah that makes sense i'd rather make them feel better than worse. Thanks
  7. So i'm at clinicals in a LTC building and We had to do some validation therapy. This lady had told us she was crying because she thought her husband was being buried today and she was not able to say goodbye to him. We later learned from the manager that her husband passed years ago and she did in fact say goodbye. Now my question is.. When she stops crying and stops believing her husband died today, does she realize that she wasn't thinking clearly or does she forget the whole episode or what? I'm guessing she has dementia of some sort but she did not live in the dementia unit so I was a little confused.
