  1. Not at all. I think it would be easier taking health assessment and fundamentals. A lot of the information crosses over. You will do a lot better in health assessment with everything you are learning in fundamentals. That's what I am doing this semester and it's working well. I think its tougher for those that don't take health assessment with fundamentals because you can forget the little things that you will need when going to clinicals for foundations.
  2. That's great! I know it is tough. I think I found out another after submitting my app. I randomly refreshed my email and there it was! Good luck!!! FYI you should be able to take health assessment and dosage before officially entering the nursing program. If you can do that and your first semester will less stressful.
  3. Hi. Sounds good so far. Have you finished all of your pre reqs. I think that would be the next most important thing that they would look at. Also, are you caught up with all of your shots etc? I think you have a good chance. A lot of people I talked to had a 90+ on the hesi.
  4. Sounds good.... Join the facebook group by visiting this link https://www.facebook.com/groups/230687253764545/ :-)
  5. Hey all, I will be starting ACC's ADN program in Jan... Quick question: do they restrict the color of your stethoscope? Also, do they require a certain nursing show we must buy? Thank you!
  6. Congrats!!!! They didn't mention color restrictions so I went ahead and got a pink one :-). As for shoes, they didn't mention so I'm using old danskos until they tell us. I'm glad they are so organized! I already drafted my schedule, so I know we will be there Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday :-). I'm sure they will answer all of our questions in a few weeks, just make sure to write them down. What do you guys think of starting a FB page for our entire class?
  7. Thanks for moving it! :-)
  8. I have no idea how to edit and move this to Texas schools etc... Once I figure it out I will move it. Thanks for your suggestions. ( I find this site to be confusing sometimes. :-/) Yea, I was put on the alternate list for WCJC-Sugarland so I understand, but feel good about the ACC program. I heard it's great! So far we have 3 students on here. I am definitely looking into carpooling and creating study groups for those that live on this side of town. (I'm in the Westchase area near beltway). Also, I was told to record lectures and play them during the drive so the commute can be productive :-) just a thought....
  9. Awesome. I looked and most of the book are also available via etext. I may try and find used ones elsewhere to save some money. I am not sure about the shoes. I have a pear of black dansko that I normally wear. Hopefully we can use that. If not I'm sure they will tell us during orientation. I still need to go try on and order the uniforms. I live out of district as will in Houston, about 50 minutes away so I will be commuting.
  10. Awesome!!!! Are you excited for December orientation/school? It's great to know the days and time we will be there for classes. Also, book list will be uploaded Nov 18th. Can't wait to purchase everything. What side of town do live at?
  11. Hello fellow ACC nursing students, I'm new to the site, and I wanted to start a post to look and connect with students who have been accepted and are planning to attend the Alvin Community College ADN Spring 2014 program. If that's you please reply! Super excited to officially start nursing school. Congrats and look forward to meeting you all!
