  1. Thank you again! I came across another link which confuses me little bit. Under FAQs it says i will have to take these pre-reqs: http://cnhs.fiu.edu/nursing/undergraduate_basic_track_equivalent.html However under admission requirements it says this : Successfully complete the following nursing pre-requisites (with grade of C or above): statistics, human growth & development across the life span, human nutrition. Transcripts will be evaluated by the College of Nursing. I think i will have to call them for proper info on this particular topic unless someone here knows about it :) I have emailed them but the lady who is responding doesnt seem much knowledgeable.
  2. Thank you! I am applying for this program. It would be really great if i get accepted. They conduct interviews for admissions so its different as i read very few nursing programs have interviews ! I dont know if it is true or not. It needs 3 pre-requisites : statistics, human growth & development across the life span, human nutrition. Is it possible to complete them before october 1st 2014 if i start in the spring semester?
  3. hello everyone, i am a MD from a foreign country who just immigrated to USA. I want to stay in the medical field and i m planning to apply to this program : http://fep.fiu.edu/ However i have few questions regarding it. Is it accepted by all states? I mean the site mentions that it is recognised by florida but it doesnt mention any other state. Also do they expect you to work in one of their hospital after the program is complete? Any input big or small would be appreciated !! :)
  4. Any help would be appreciated ! I also have one more query regarding the validity of the degree given by FIU in other states. I mean its kind of vague to spend 50k in tuition if its valid only in Florida :)
  5. I am a FMG with speciality in OBGYN and Oncology working a minimum wage job.I migrated to USA 2 months back and i want to stay in the medical field. I came across this. http://fep.fiu.edu/ I think it's great for me. It says the requirements are these : Be a United States citizen or resident Have completed a medical degree from an accredited non-US university. Have transcripts evaluated by Josef Silny & Associates or by an equivalent transcript evaluating company. Obtain a TOEFL score of 550 or complete ENC 1101 and ENC 1102. Obtain an 80% on the Reading and Comprehension and Math areas of the HESI A2. Successfully complete the following nursing pre-requisites (with grade of C or above): statistics, human growth & development across the life span, human nutrition. Transcripts will be evaluated by the College of Nursing. I understood most part of it. How difficult are these pre-reqs? Can i complete them by the deadline for the next admission round ie May 2014? I Dont mind starting right away. Both of my kids are in med school and the fees are high, while i do have savings i would want to earn and support them rather then deplete my savings. Anyone here went to FIU? I would appreciate all the responses. I want to get back to a hospital and i know i belong there ! :) I would also appreciate it greatly if someone gave any info on what a FMG can do in USA. I dont mind a 50k/year job. Something is better then nothing :)
