  1. In Florida, you have to admit if you were admitted when applying. I was always honest with my school that I needed help a few years back during a nasty divorce (he did very cruel things) and now I have to go before the boards while everyone tests. My mother wanted me to tell them what he did, but today my doctors substitute is from the medical board. he just told me to say I had a sudden and unexpected divorce, but I have since grown leaps and bounds, completing a 2 yr program in 2 years with honors and I have obtained a position in the ER. I am praying it is enough and they are going to screw with me. I did not deserve the things he did and said and it would break my heart to reclaim my life.
  2. A few years ago, my ex (of 9 years) suddenly and very cruelly left me. I was just starting to get better from cancer complications and depression from the pain, so I admitted myself to a mental health facility to get the help I needed. I have since had a complete turn around and just graduated nursing school with honors. I was honest on my application and admitted this had happen within 5 yrs. Now instead of being released like my classmates, I have to go before the board and explain things, or let them "see I am okay now." I am nervous because I have fought long and hard, going from using a wheelchair to working out and being very active. I was a paramedic before I was sick and my dream was to be an ER nurse, I have a job offer as one! Has anyone heard of the board refusing to let someone get their license for something like this? Its frustrating and hopefully the delay won't loose my dream job.
