Does anyone know someone who is in the peds primary care program currently? The finding my own preceptor for specialty year is a little nerve wracking and I would love to connect with someone who has done it and can assure me it isn't as much of a nightmare as I have heard it can be (from people at other programs). I love Vandy and it is my first choice, but with the cost I don't want to get one year into the program and then feel stuck and frustrated because I cannot find a good enough preceptor for myself... And does anyone know if we have to find more than one preceptor for the block format specialty year? Thanks all! And nkw05, I have not heard of anyone making one yet, so if you would like to.. I say go for it! (:

Yesterday, I got an email saying my status had changed and I have been accepted to peds pre specialty!

pmg1990, thank you! You too! I got into UAB's program but turned them down because Vandy is my top choice. Did you apply anywhere else?

I keep refreshing this page whenever I have a few moments, just waiting to hear that someone got a letter in the mail!! I am also too much of a chicken to call admissions myself, so I am faced with the waiting game! I live in Washington state, so my letter may take a little while to get all the way here... Boohoo! How are you all seeing the status of your application? Is it just when you log back in to the place we submitted it? Mine looks exactly the same as it did when I submitted in November.

Hi All! Just found this thread. So glad to find others to commiserate with! [: I applied to the PNP specialty. I have yet to receive the financial aid packet... has everyone else already gotten it?

As far as I know, they only admit or decline you admission to the specific track to which you apply. I am sure there are some exceptions to the rule, but generally you are only considered for your specific interest.

Hawaii808, I got an email with my ID number yesterday morning, but they claim to have never received my community college official transcript. I had it sent the first week of October, so I am not sure what happened here. But I drove up to the community college first thing yesterday morning and had another one sent... hopefully they will still accept it.

Hopefully I will get a letter soon too! Kind of annoying that it doesn't tell you if they have received everything they need, especially since they have to print a letter with an individualized student ID number anyway.

I also have no idea if it all came together, and when I called, the lady told me that they have hundreds of things to go through so she wouldnt be able to tell me anything yet. I havent received a student ID number yet either, so I cant check that site! Also, cannot find the FB group. Would someone mind pasting in a link for the group? Thanks!

It had it in small print at the beginning of the application, on the first "home" page. I saw it on one of my last go throughs of my application haha.

This is what it says regarding the due date on the APNI website: [h=3]Q. When is the application deadline?[/h]December 1 is the application deadline for Summer quarter entry. All application materials should be submitted to the office of Graduate Admissions by that date: application (including the prerequisite status form), transcripts, GRE scores, resume, goals statement, and references. However, I imagine the person who is in charge of the grad-admissions email will have enough "evidence" to support an allowance of delayed material [:

maly14, thats a good idea. I will have to do some staff researching and figure out who would be best to send it to! UABs program is similar to SU, but it takes longer to complete. I have extended family in the area and had planned on it being my back up school just in case SU or Vandy doesnt work out. However, spring start date (coming from a quarter system school) did not mean january to me! oops!

The grad school's email inbox is full and cannot accept my email!! Ahh.

I applied to the University of Alabama at Birmingham and got in to their program, but I couldnt be ready to start January 2nd, so I had to say no. Much harder to turn down an acceptance than I would have thought!! haha. I also applied to Vanderbilt. What about you all?
