  1. I am a high school senior and I have volunteered at the local transplant hospital for three years until I was hired as a non certified nurse assistant. I started helping sick children and loved it. I really got interested in NICU nursing. I thought was nursing the perfect career fit for me, but everything shattered. A nurse I worked with for four years about seven years older than me quit. The hospital was understaffing the floor I worked on to the point she feared her license would be revoked. My father, a nephrologist who works on the same floor, broke the news to me. He said it's horrible and that the hospitals are run by businessmen who only care about making money, so they don't hire enough nurses to save money. I'm scared. I have always had a plan and I thought found my passion and now I don't know if I want to be a nurse anymore. I don't even know what I can do because helping others who are sick and in need is my passion. Can anyone offer any advice? Are nurses unhappy at their jobs? Do you regret becoming a nurse?
  2. Thanks! I am a high school student and I was just curious.
  3. Hi! I was wondering about getting a job as a nurse on a pro basketball team. I love basketball and sports and was just curious about the types of career I could have. Also, how does one get a job as a nurse in the NBA? Thanks☺️
  4. Hi, I want to take the CNA certification test; I took the practice test and I got all the answers right. Can I take it online for free without the training? The hospital I volunteered at has trained me as a PCA for two years.
  5. I am emailing community colleges in my area, but they are not emailing back. I will try calling them and if I have any questions or any comments of interest I will post them.
  6. I am glad you were able to find someone to take care of your little girl:) I am so sorry about her sickness and I hope she is doing well.
  7. Hi, I am a high school junior and I want to look good on my college resume. I have volunteered at my local transplant hospital for two years now. My father is a kidney doctor, and has known the nurses on the floor for years; he told them to train me as a PCA and they did. I can take vital signs and do the same tasks as a PCA does. My questions are that can I get a job as a PCA even though I am not certified and I am still in high school? If I need to be certified, I already saw a practice test and I knew all the material, can I just take the test somewhere in San Antonio? I am also getting CPR certified too.
  8. Hi! I am a junior in high school and I have been wanting to be a nurse ever since I was twelve. When I was fifteen, I took a volunteer position at the transplant hospital by my school. A year later, ( my dad's a kidney doctor and has known the nurses on the floor for years) he told them to train me as a PCA and they did. I can take vital signs and do all the other things the PCAs do. The only problem is that I am not certified and I am still in high school and I want a job. Is it possible?
