  1. After eventually getting to an operator from the BRN I was told that I had to re-apply examination since that counted as an "attempt". So I had to pay the 150 for the BRN and now i have to wait for a new ATT in order to schedule. I'm really angry at myself but I guess i'll take this time to just keep doing questions.
  2. So I go in to take my exam at 8:00 AM, wait in the lobby and my number gets called. Hand my ID over to the Pearson Vue employee and find out my ID was expired. I get it, 200 dollars down the drain, I should be more responsible, I already renewed all my identification etc. My question is do I have to re-register on the California BON website for re-examination or not. I'm already a repeat tester, this test would have been my 2nd attempt. I just got off live chat with Pearson Vue and they weren't sure. I've tried calling the CA BRN but calls never get through to a person. If anything I'll just drive up to Sacramento to get an answer. I've seen posts in the past where people did have to pay their BON again, but nothing concrete on California. There isn't anything specific about this on the CA BRN website either.
  3. Hello, I've been lurking on this site for quite a while now. I am currently a senior nursing student in Southern California. After getting this far into the nursing program, i'm beginning to have my doubts about whether or not nursing is really for me anymore. My question is, does anyone know the current requirements for teaching in California? I've been told many things such as "just go get a teaching certification" or "go get a PhD". On top of that people keep telling me that requirements in California keep changing thus requiring a PhD to teach as a nurse. I'm really confused about all of this. I've always wanted to teach (i was a tutor for 3 years in high school), but stories from my old teachers about job hunting didn't sound fun back when i was in high school and my parents convinced me into going into nurisng. I'm honestly considering just paying off my loans, start working part time afterwards, grab a liberal arts degree somewhere and teach with that, while keeping my RN status active.
