  1. I work in the CCU and get my 30, just have to make sure everything is done before I go...although we do carry a portable in case were needed immediately.
  2. Don't give up! I was a stay at home mom of 3 for 11yrs, decided to go for nursing and graduated to find out no one would hire me die to lack of work history and no experience. I graduated in May 2012 and found a job in psych in oct just to get something under my belt. A month ago I found a job which I wanted since I started school as a CCU nurse. I probably applied to over 200 places before I got a bite. Don't give up!!!
  3. I would go for it. Furthering your education is always a good thing. A friend of mine retired from being a floor nurse. 5 yrs later she was bored not working and was able to get a part time job as a nurse manager because of her BSN. She wasn't running around the unit plus she still had a hand in helping the pt.
  4. I agree with the last post. Trazadone is what I used as well. However depending on the fragility of the pt...I could only administer 25mg for one pt in particular...50-100mg is the usual.
  5. I made my own flash cards with drug name, dose, ect, to really get them to stick. I'd add 10 new ones every other day while repeating the ones I already had. I graduated over a year ago and can still recall those meds. One thing that helped was instead of knowing just the name and dose of the med, know the why. Why would you give that med and what is the desired outcome? I wish you the best of luck. :)
  6. Greys anatomy scrubs are the best. I had trouble finding pants...one size was too big and the other too small. Greys fit perfect plus the material is extremely comfy
