  1. Congratulations on your acceptance! Where to live really depends on your needs. Like if you have kids, pets, etc. You all need will be assigned one of us (current students) to be your mentor/point of contact. You will receive an email. We will also try to organize a social event sometime this Summer for a chance to ask all the questions. We can't wait to meet you all and look forward to working with you through the program! Congratulations again!
  2. Congratulations on getting invited to interview! I believe they interviewed 37 last year. Best thing you can do is be genuine and do not pretend you know something if you don't. They are looking for your current critical care skills not expecting you to know anesthesia. Be sure to prepare a 2 minute speech that encompasses your professional acumen (sell yourself). Practice this speech as for most of us it is difficult to speak about oneself. Be proud of your accomplishments and summarize them well. Remember that getting to this point is already and accomplishment. Best of luck and hope to see you at interview!
  3. Welcome. Not calculations but just how you use or what you know about critical care meds/drips. It was a panel of 3 interviewing and asking a couple questions each. Lasted about 15 minutes. We are also hoping to have some current students there for interviews to help answer questions to our future cohorts ☺️
  4. Hello the interview was mostly EI with 1-2 medication questions. We have 18 in but the program is growing and I believe they will take more this year.
  5. Wishing everyone good news in a couple of weeks. When I left at close to noon looks like they were done with everyone that was interviewing. I pray I see you all in August!☺️
  6. I got the same email with a 15 min slot for the 27th. I guess if they are interviewing about 35 of us they can get it all done in one day.? They could also have two panels interviewing at the same time ??‍♀️ Wishing everyone the best of luck.
  7. I called the school. They said applications still being reviewed. They hope to have interview invitations out by end of the month. The interviews will be at end of March. Good luck to all. Hope to see y'all in San Antonio in March.??☺️
  8. I called the school today and they said the director is out until tomorrow and that I can call back tomorrow for an update. I also emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME - PLEASE DO NOT POST IDENTIFYING INFO ABOUT OTHERS) and got an out of office until 2/11 reply. The wait is driving me crazy. I need to start planning life if I get in ☺️ looking forward to sharing the journey with you all. Praying we all get in ??
  9. Congratulations selects!!! I was there in suspense not too long ago. I went to COT in May 2015 and got to my first duty station San Antonio ER in July! Hope to see some of you coming to join me soon!!
  10. Orders came last week!! Flight reserved and working on the moving process! COT for 5/26 so less than 30 days out! Uniforms are bought and luggage ready. Hoping all the rest out there are excited, I'm super ready and looking forward to my new journey!!!
  11. Hello Kennyb, glad to see you on here, sorry for delayed reply. There is a FB pager Air Force cot 15-04 to keep us in touch so have been communicating with others that way, go check it out! I have sworn in, my scroll is approved but still waiting for orders so until orders are cut nothing is for sure which is nerve wracking to say the least.
  12. Hello everyone, I have created a thread Air Force COT May 2015 for any of you out there that will be going to training to help us stay in touch! T-2.5 months!! Time is flying by, so ready!
  13. Hello everyone wanted to start a thread so everyone that is going to COT at Maxwell AFB in Alabama this May. Would like to exchange information and ideas in preparing for the training.
  14. I will be going to SAMMC for my first duty station!!! This is perfect for me and I'm beyond excited!! Now waiting to swear in next week and then to await for orders. Eeeeek!!!
  15. I would say try to find a job in an area of need for example ER, pedis,OR the slots in this field are not many but not many people with qualified experience apply either so that is the best bet rather than just as clinical nurse which is med/surg. From previous boards I think there are lots of applicants for clinical and fewer for the specialty areas. So if you have to come to that specializing is best. You got everything else so you will get it!!
  16. Camo angel thank you!!! The road has been long so don't get discouraged for you if worse comes to worse then u will get a job and experience and apply fully qualified so no biggie. I would get involved with church activities and also political party activities as a volunteer as a letter of recommendation from these would be good. Sounds like you do have good things already so I know you will get in it just may not happen when u want it. My best advise is be persistent. It will happen if you want it to just be very patient and remember getting in is the beginning because then the competition to stay in begins! I know I will get to see you in there someday, keep it up soldier!
  17. Thank you free2live!!!! I could not believe it either, this is Gods plan and is working out at a perfect time for me. I think you should apply right away because as you know getting in first try is difficult but gives you a better chance next time. I have faith that it will work for you in Gods time too! No word on assignment yet but recruiter says soon, the Kessler area would be nice! Now just waiting on background check and then to swear in, maybe then this dream will seem real!! I still feel on cloud nine lol hope to keep up with everyone else once I'm there.
