  1. I actually wrote one and then I didn't submit it, although with my background I really could have. I kind of alluded to it in my main essay so I didn't think it was necessary.
  2. I don't know what their grades were, but at this level I assume most people are getting good grades or have exceptional experience. One of them was a Chemistry teacher and they accepted her the second time she applied after finishing the prereqs. Put a lot of effort and time into your essay, I think people tend to underestimate as a deciding factor. It is the only way to really set yourself apart. Good Luck!
  3. I had all my prereqs done. I really think it's incredibly important to have all if not, 5 out 6 completed. I knew at least 3 students that applied and didn't get in, and MGH told them to apply again after they finished their prereqs. Try to finish them all if possible.
  4. I had sent an email to admissions, they said we should be getting a welcome email first but that it is sent out after the last day the deposit is due, on the 30th. I'm assuming by next week? I'm also ready to get things going! I'd like to know what needs to be done before we start.
  5. Nevermind just found it! I looked up MGHIHP ABSN Spring and clicked searched then it came up!
  6. I'm having a hard time finding the FB group..tried the space tip but it still is not coming up.
  7. MGH was my top choice and my only choice! I went to an info session last year and knew right then that it was the perfect fit for me. I agree with everyone that said the essay is critical. I figured I'm competing with others that have either the same or better GPA so I have to dig deep and really figure out what is unique about me and what separates me from others. How does my past lend itself to becoming a great nurse. I have zero medical background, and from what I learned at the info session the accelerated program is geared towards attracting people from outside the field. So if you are in the field already really make yourself stand out from all the others who want to become nurses. My reccs were from 2 profs (one was my AP I and II prof) and I stressed to them that it's an accelerated program and I need them to show that not only can I keep up but an thrive. My other was a professional I worked with through a famous brand. Between my essay and recs (who does the rec is as important as what they are saying) that was able to convey me as a person outside of just my grades. I had 4 reccs and was able to pick the 3 ppl I thought had the strongest background. I put everything into my MGH app cause it's the only place I wanted to go! Thank God for the generous scholarship too, makes me feel good that they wanted me as much as I wanted them. Good luck!
  8. We have to accept the offer by 9/30. So probably soon after they will start taking ppl from the waiting list! Good luck!
  9. A good friend of mine applied twice and got in the second time! It's not unusual for MGH for applicants to apply more than once. Good luck!
  10. I'm in!!!!! I got in with a scholarship!!! So sooo thankful. I'm watching you all!!! Good luck!
  11. Remember from previous threads, they send out notices in batches. Do not give up hope. I have 1 hour to go, and yes I keep refreshing my application and hiding my eyes before looking... stomach is in total knots...
  12. Just got an email!!! they will update by tomorrow!!! OMGGGG freaking out. ETA: it will be ready 5 pm today..hands are shaking. GL everyone this is IT!
  13. I've got that sinking feeling...hope my feeling is wrong.
  14. Yep still nada. I check the forum email still all the time. I really hope it's in the next couple of days.
  15. Well today or tomorrow are the last days of this week?! So here's hoping we find out soon! Good luck everyone!
