first off, i am new to this board and not sure where to file this topic, so please feel free to move it appropriately. this may be a bit lengthy so please bear with me..... i am a new grad nurse currently working as a nurse assistant for a hospital. i was denied one job with my current employer but am up for another, and am about 90% certain they will make an official job offer on monday with the expectation to start orientation the NEXT DAY (tuesday). however, to complicate matters, i have been talking and interviewing with another hospital for quite some time now, and finally got a call to interview with the managers there. i mentioned to the recruiter on the phone that the interview needed to be completed quickly and briefly explained my situation above. now, my dilemma is this: when interviewing with this other hospital, should i mention that i have another job offer? under normal circumstances, i would not mention it, but due to the condensed time frame of my current employer, i feel that if i am seriously considering another job i need to mention it to the manager. at the same time, i do not want to come off as pushy or as playing hard ball. based on the timeline, this other manager would have to make an offer the same day. i feel backed in to a corner to take the position at my current employer, but also feel the decision is rushed in some ways. i dont want to burn any bridges in this whole process either. any and all help is greatly appreciated!
