  1. does any one know what all is included in the nursing print & ebook package from Gateway CC I guess I would like to know specially if the davis drug guide, Phillips iv, nursing diagnosis, and saunders comprehensive NCLEX-RN are included. (when I look at the list of what is included it shows 11 items (the bookstore at gateway told me there were 14 books in the collection) so even those numbers do not match up if the above mentioned 4 were in the collection with 11 it would be 15 books. So I am wondering what the extra 3 on top of the list of 11 are? I have found all (and them some) except the hesi 2013 and the Elsevier sls simulations rn online access codes (at barnes and noble for much cheaper) than 1125. however they are all the physical copies of the books and the required online codes for one of the others as well as the online video 4.0 by mosby. (I hate ebooks) so is it imperative that I get ebooks & print or are ebooks not required. (someone once said it is important to have your laptop with you everyday in class) what if I don't want to bring it every day and only want print books. What are your suggestions, or recommendations? On a budget, 1 child and only my spouse is working, while I'll be in school, so need to save money where ever we can.
  2. Congrats, I will also be starting the accelerated nursing program at Gateway spring 2014. I have a friend that goes there and she loves it, but she is in the traditional nursing program. So all I know so far, is according to her: accelerated, is basically the same but with shorter breaks, and we would not have a summer off (so I guess we will know more at orientation). No I have not received my orientation packet yet. My friend also recommends purchasing the Success books. There is a series of them and she says def. get the Test success book, and they have others geared towards specific sections, for example, med surg section in school will have a med surg success book, and there is one for ob and peds for when we do that section, as well as one for psych that she will be using for block 4 spring 2014. Hope this helps. She also said the test success will teach you how to properly answer test questions, b/c every test is set up similarly. Its not like all the core and pre req classes we took to get here, (were every class, every teacher and every test was different.) So even if you don't know the answer it can help you rule out answers and give a better estimated guess. Again this is all from my friend who is in her 3rd block at Gateway traditional nursing program.
