  1. I also applied for spring 2018 I started a thread but no one has applied I'm an alteranate. Did you get in?
  2. You can just walk in. I would go first thing in the morning. There is literally only a handful of people in the office that's why it's so slow.
  3. I am a new LVN. Well just about to hit my 1 year mark. I am the Charge Nurse for NOC shift. I am a hard worker and love nursing and love working with the patients. I never knew there would be so much paper work, and I didn't think managing CNA's would be so hard. I am the only management on the floor at night, and I think being new. The CNA's are trying me. They are hard workers, but if I ask them anything or out of routine they get upset. They come to work with an attitude, and sit most of the night on the phone. Our facility is well known for having very little treatments or pressure sores. But in the last 2 weeks, there has been an outbreak. I ask the CNA's to reposition the residents, and I always get the cocky answer oh I did. My v/s are never done, call lights are being unanswered, I found a resident soaked in pee. If we are encouraging fluids it is not being done. I cannot do it all. I have 46 patients on the floor and I have 10 on charting, plus weekly summaries, plus at least one event a night. I feel so depressed because I feel like I cannot say anything to the CNA's without them getting an attitude. They said from 130-330 we sit and watch the call lights. Its just ridiculous. If I am suppose to turn my face and look the other way I chose the wrong career and I am disheartened. I cannot not say anything. I always think the pt could be me and I want my nurse to take care of me. I have one CNA that is so outstanding and when correction is given who is the CNA that gets the most upset and works even harder. My best CNA and she isnt even the problem. Ive had complaints from 6 CNAs since I started that I am disrespectful or I ask too much. Answer the call lights, complete charting, turn the patients. Isnt that in the job description. Why should I have to say the call light has been on for 10 mins while 3 CNAs sit on their cell phones. I usually end up answering the call lights in addition to what Im doing. I am always willing to help with transfers. Repositions, toileting, dressing. I do not get it. Management seems supportive but there is a CNA shortage so it seems nothing really gets done. I want to find a job where I do not have to manage others under my license, but I really do like my facility. I have never felt sick and depressed from a job my whole life. I never felt like I was a bad worker. I was always the one that was recognized and helped out. Now I feel singled out and disliked. Any advice. I guess Im venting.
  4. yes I agree, but you dont have to wait for your license to land a job. I got 2 jobs before my actual license got here, and on my first day of orientation for both jobs, my license had arrived.
  5. Oh, So why did she ask me if I want a temporary license. Ill have to call today.
  6. I have passed my NCLEX and I paid my initial License Fee Yesterday. I live 5mins away from the BVNPT, so its not that big of a deal for me to hop back over there.
  7. Should I get a temporary LVN License. I was told that unless the number shows on the BON website, we can't work anyway. I live in Sacramento, CA. I paid for my license yesterday. Should I get one....When will my license come in? Does any 2015 test takers have some input? Thanks.
  8. Congratulations Bratton:snurse:. !!!!!!!!!!!!! No the BVNPT does not show anything! But, I still check every day lol
  9. UPDATE - I passed my NCLEX received my letter August 15, 2015. Now to await my License.
  10. I took my test on the 22nd so I would say some time next week hopefully. I actually live in Sacramento, so I got the letter the next day after it was sent out according to the stamp on the envelope. I'm sure you passed keep me updated.:) Thanks
  11. And just FYI - I took the NCLEX PN and the PVT worked for me and I used a valid credit card but wrong expiration date and name. You are supposed to wait 48 hours. It is supposed to take you to the cc page whether you fail or not. When I go to cc page I put in the information as described, and I got the good pop up. When I put the incorrect card information in, it said it needed valid credit card information or what not. Well today I got my letter 3.5 weeks later. I passed. Thank you Jesus. It worked for me, and helped ease my nerves.

  20. I had asked a similar question in June. I live in Sacramento, CA graduated school: 5/12/15 sent in paper work: 6/09/15 Got my ATT: 7/16/15 Took my test:7/22/15...awaiting results.
  21. Thanks guys keep me updated:up: and I'll do the same. Its nice to know were in this together, and an estimated time of response. graduated school: 5/12/15 sent in paper work: 6/09/15 Got my ATT: 7/16/15 Took my test:7/22/15...awaiting results.
  22. oK...Thx yes patience a virtue I lack lol...i'll post my official results when I get them.
  23. I have been attending College since I was 17 trying to pusue a career in Nursing. I come from a low income family. No family support. I actually got kicked out of the house because my mother remarried and "needed space" I have had 3 great jobs and got married have 2 children right now a 1 year old and 2 year old and guess what I am now 28 and never have I stopped attempting to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. If you want something and don't want the life you have now you have to decide to do it. No one can do it for you. Yes there will be roadblocks. Yes it will get difficult, overwhelming and it may seem impossible but all things are possible....With God all things are possible. I own a home 2 kids husband 2 cars and just passed my NCLEX in Jesus Name yesterday 10+ years later. But that is way more than anyone in my family. Mother has a highschool diploma. Dad never finished highschool and is a drunk. Grandma didnt pass 6th grade. My mom has been divorced 3 times, and is on section 8. I am so blessed, never gave up and have a positive outlook on my future. Go get what you want. Don't let anyone stop you. Don't blame anyone. If anything, the trials and obstacles will only make you stronger, a better person, and more appreciative of what you work for.
  24. I just took My Nclex-PN yesterday July 22, 2015. I did the PVT trick and according to it I passed. I am going to try again at 48 hours. I wish we could know right away if we passed. I live in Sacramento. It seems that the whole process to get my LVN is such a long waiting game. If you live in the area how long did it take you to get your results and did you do the the PVT.
  25. I think remar sounds cocky. I would not like having her as my teacher. Sorry you did not pass. I just took my test yesterday. I watched Michael Linaires. In Jesus Name I passed. I did PVT did you do that?
