  1. So I'm in my last semester of nursing school and am doing my precepting portion (108 hours). I worked my first two night shifts every in my life! I loved it but I feel like my sleep schedule and eating schedule are totally off. I had today off and just wanted to sleep all day! I have a supportive husband so thats great but will this get easier? I feel off since I don't really know when to eat or what I'm eating (tummy upset and tums at 0300 needed....). How do others handle their schedule, especially if you do a couple of nights then have a couple days off and then work some more nights? Do you try to get into a "normal" schedule on your off days? I don't really want to keep up a full time night schedule since I do love my husband and would like to see him :) Any advice would be SO helpful!
  2. I'm in my 4th semester and getting ready to graduate. I'm just wondering if others ever have a problem with what I like to call "on the spot anxiety"? I feel like I know information and I know what I'm doing with patients right up until the nurse or clinical instructor asks me a question...I go blank and kind of feel stupid or think I look like I don't know my stuff. I really do know the information (I do great on tests and written work) but when on the spot I feel there is a disconnect between my brain and mouth until they walk away. I've always had anxiety when put on the spot (I actually have social anxiety that I have worked to overcome in nursing school) and I don't want this to effect how I come across to others. Does anyone have any tips on how not to freeze up when asked a question?
