  1. Hey friends ? Where are all my office nurses at? I have an interview next week for an internal medicine doctor's office position. I am trying to leave my current area based on schedule alone. I work pre/post op/pacu, 530am to 4pm. Overnight/weekend call rotation and holiday rotation. I am gone 11 hrs a day and feel like I miss my kids. By the time I get them from daycare, do sports and dinner, I am dead exhausted and crabby since waking at 430/445 every morning. What is the office life like? The office is open 8-430, with one half day a week. Is this better work life balance? I know it's a pay cut, but at this point I feel like my kids are more important and need my time. Let me know what all you office girls like/dislike please! I'm trying to balance options and want to make the best choice and not regret it. Please advise! Thank you nurses, love you all!
  2. Directors and/or Assistant Directors at SNF/rehab/LTC facility? Pros vs cons? Duties? Is the salary worth the frustration? Is it worth leaving the hospital bedside? Contemplating leaving the hospital and applying to multiple positions for ADON or DON. Let me know your advice! Thank you!
  3. Any Nurses out there who are Directors or Assistant Directors at a SNF/rehab facility? Pros vs cons? Duties? Contemplating leaving the hospital and applying to multiple positions for ADON or DON. Let me know your advice!
  4. Hi fam! I am registered to take the CAPA exam, any advice? I have a few different books for study resources, but feel like I'm at a loss about what content to focus on. I even took an Aspan review ***, but feel like it was very vague. Thanks all.
  5. Hi all Just looking for some advice. I currently work part time (0.5) in Same Day Surgery with regular hours typically 8-430 / 9-530. I also take call as a secondary nurse with PACU. PACU recently had a job opening for 4 days a week, but evenings 12-930pm. And same type of call schedule i do now. Since I work closely with the team, they encouraged me to apply, and I even already spoke with the team lead and manager. They preferred an internal applicant, and since I already take call with them, they felt it would be a smooth transition- and that way I can get some critical experience which Ive had interest in, so they felt it would be a good fit. I never formally applied yet for 2 reasons. First, the schedule. Evening hours with little kids at home- anyone have an opinion on this? I have a 16 month old and a 2.5 year old. Do I really want full time evening hours? Also, my current unit in same day just had some people leave, so I know the team would be hurting if I left too. Any advice please let me know! I have been going back and forth for awhile now, and I know PACU is interviewing. So I might miss my shot. (Also appealing- amazing healthcare benefits for full time employees). Thanks team! God bless you all for all you do!! -Indecisive Trish!
