  1. OK, so let me start off by saying that I have always wanted to be an RN. My high school offered medical classes so I became a CNA. I then went to Fortis, and became a medical assistant. Don't ask me why I didn't just go for my RN then, because I have no clue! Everything would've been paid for. But I was young, and dumb and ready to get working. Well now I am 22, and ready to go back to school. My dilemma is which school to go to. I have heard that both Polk State, and Keiser offer really good nursing programs. I know 2 people, one graduated from Keiser, and the other from Polk. Both say that their school is better. I have done plenty of research on both. But I'm so confused. Through Keiser, I am set up to take the Teas v on Nov. 5, and if I pass I will go through with the interview process, and hopefully start in Jan. and my seat for the nursing program will be saved. But if I go to Polk, I will have to take a college placement test, then pre-reqs, then eventually take the teas test, and go through there process to be selected for the nursing program. And may have to be put on a wait list if there are people more qualified then myself. Another factor: between my husband and I we make to much money for grants! (I don't know how because we barely have enough to pay our bills, and have food on the table.) With that being said, I will have to take out tons of loans for Keiser, and hope the medical field is still booming, and hiring when I graduate to get a job and pay off school debt. They're right around 35k. Where polk state is much much cheaper. And if I change somethings in my budget I can pay for a couple classes my self. So I guess my question is, is the money that I am going to be spending in the long run for Keiser better than the wait at Polk? A couple other questions: If I decide with-in the next couple of weeks that I really want to go to Polk, should I still take the teas v test at Keiser and get my results sent to Polk? (I already paid for the test, and all the study material. Plus, the results are good for 3 yrs.) Is it true that if I graduate from Keiser with my A.S. and become an RN, that my credits will not be able to transfer another college? (This is concerning, and I am afraid that they won't tell me the whole truth.) Thank you for reading, and your opinions. Sincerely, Angel
