  1. I'm currently in my first semester of nursing school, and I was curious if there were any nurses who were military spouses and how they handle both? My husband is interested in PCSing overseas once I'm finished with school and pass the n-clex, but I'm wondering what the restrictions/qualifications are for practicing as an RN if we were to go overseas? Would I have to option to work in the base hospital? What about working off base at all? It would kill me if I wasn't able to practice nursing after working so hard through school and the n-clex.
  2. Hey everyone! :) I got accepted into Grand Canyon University's nursing program at the Tucson campus. I'm excited and terrified at the same time lol. I start January 2015. My question is, does anyone have any advice to give on how to prepare for nursing school? Any subjects I should review? I did well in all of my classes but now that I've been accepted I suddenly feel like I don't know anything! I may just be overreacting but I would love anyone's advice on how to prepare/survive this program. :)
  3. Hey everyone I was about to make a thread looking for GCU Tucson applicants but looks like others were way ahead of me :) I got accepted into the Spring 2015 Cohort! :) I applied for fall 2014 but ended up an alternate. I'm really looking forward to meeting you all. I can be quiet around people sometimes and part of me is worried I'm not going to make any friends in the program (
  4. I was prescribed Gabapentin a few months ago. 300 mg, one with each meal and two before bed. I'm also prescribed tramadol 50 mg that I also take before bed. I've been taking this for chronic lower back pain along with numbness and tingling in both of my legs. This has been going on for 2+ years. I've seen multiple doctors and I've gotten a different answer each time. My pain specialist said that my leg pain is sciatica but I currently do not have a legitimate diagnosis. But onto my question, can I be in a nursing program or even practice nursing at all while on these meds? The tramadol like I said I only take when I go to bed, and I have built up a tolerance to the gabapentin like my pain specialist told me to. I'm not impaired at all while on these meds. I'm an alternate to the program I applied to and I'm just worried that all of this is going to ruin being a nurse for me
