  1. Jaimemart, I'd encourage you to live off campus. It's far cheaper!
  2. Ooh! Scrubs! Yeah, I've got number of small, women's scrub tops and 3 pairs of pants. I'll throw them in too (once I get through clinical in May!). Don't spend lots of money on scrubs, you can totally score free pairs from people in the program. No one wants to wear Hunter Green by the end of the year!
  3. Hey, everyone! My name is Laura and like Serena, I'll be graduating from the BAT program in May. (Whoo-hoo! Time really truly flies). I'd be super happy to sell my textbooks as well and to sweeten the pot, will throw in a "clicker" as well! (It's a crappy electronic device you need for one class. And never again). Feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected] and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the sale! Like Serena, if anyone has any questions about the program, please feel free to fire them my way and I'd be happy to answer! Congratulations to all! The BAT program is certainly intense, but far more doable than I had anticipated.
  4. Hey, Alexis! I was waitlisted from Stony Brook, but I was accepted to Binghamton. (It's definitely all for the best - I'm getting married in April and wasn't too keen on living with the in-laws for a year while in school full time!) Can't wait to meet you in May!
  5. Hi, Everyone! I had my interview today. I was told that we should hear back in 2-3 weeks. So, bank on sometime before Christmas
  6. Thanks, everyone!!! My interview is on Tuesday at 9 am! :)
  7. I JUST GOT A CALL FOR AN INTERVIEW!!! I applied 10/14/2013. So they're still calling!!!! Don't give up hope!!!!!
  8. Oh my goodness, yes! But good things come to those who (patiently) wait...right? ash6117, Agniesia80, did either of you get a call yet? I've still not received a call for an interview. I'm super bummed- I thought my GPA was unremarkably average, but I have quite a lot of volunteer experience and I work full time with patients in a major NYC hospital. C'est la vie. Fingers, toes, arms, legs, and eyes crossed for good news later this month! :)
  9. No, no call for an interview this week. I'm trying to be optimistic, but it's so disheartening
  10. Hi! While I personally asked for insight as to what was on the math exam a few weeks ago, the comments merely relayed what had been told to applicants at the time the interview was set up. I don’t believe this gives anyone an unfair advantage, as the suggestions of what to focus on was readily available to all applicants granted an interview. I am certainly opposed to anything that would offer an unfair advantage to later interviewees, however, I really don’t perceive that to be the case in this particular circumstance. Additionally, I would hope that all applicants granted admission to the program would work together and approach their education with a decided determination to see all of their classmates thrive, rather than taking a cutthroat approach to succeed. Perhaps such a mentality is beneficial and even fostered in the business world, but I would imagine it isn’t widely encouraged in such a team oriented field as nursing. I’m not trying to ruffle feathers at all, I’m just merely saying part of the allure of this particular program, at least for me, is that it students are surrounded by other helpful, encouraging, and supportive individuals. The desire to foster a sense of community was strongly impressed on those who went to the information sessions and I’m really thrilled to see it’s already taking root in this online community of Stony Brook hopefuls. A sincere best of luck to all who applied!!
  11. Here here! It's been super fun chatting with everyone on this thread--how lovely would it be if we were all classmates come July?? Good luck, everyone!
  12. Ash, have you heard back from anyone?
  13. Has anyone contacted ----? No avail here- I don't know if they're done with the interviews yet it if they're still calling. I haven't been called for an interview yet either (
  14. hi, Beestar! when were you called? and when is your interview?
  15. GoVeg- Thanks so much for this brilliant heads up! Admittedly, my math skills have slowly but surely deteriorated since taking the SATs years ago. I'll definitely be bugging the 3rd graders next door for help! And Kris10marie, you most feel so relieved to be done!!
