  2. LTC is not an area I really enjoy, but at leaast now I'm a nurse. AS an aide I did like some aspects, but when I worked in the ICU that is where I wanted to stay, I'm going for my RN and then I will work in the hospital. As an LPN at least here you are not allowed to do much and some aspects you are a glorified aide, in the hospital. So that why I chose LTC at 3-11 I will take charge it will give me management responsibilities I can carry out.
  3. yes male CNA can work with females.Unless they state they do not want a male aide. Female aides can take care of men and nothing is said.
  4. I heard of RT's doinf them and RN but never LPN's and rarely I.V's are started by LPN's I also am a phlebotomist so I have no prob with blood draws I worked In Icu as an aide those are so extremly painful and Artery no way not till Im a RN I see why you are hesitant :uhoh21:
  5. Seemed like it was getting harder and harder as It went along.
  6. I passed too and I got my license in the mail yesterday
  7. I live in western NY I just became licensed last week . At the hospital I would have made 14 I took the nursing home where I get paid over 16 per hour get $250 sign on after 6 months then after a year get another $250 It is more money and less case load. Till I done with RN school
  8. Just think ok hemorrhage, ABC's those are first. If those answers are not on there thinK about pain that is a definite priority because it leads to anxiety.ALso know like precautions, who would you put in a precaution room.
  9. Ok the best way I learned was to know priority's what patient would I take care of over someone else, therapuetic communication. Also know all lab ranges. This test is more common sense then book smarts, to tell you the truth :Melody:
  10. you will just know your lab values know priority for patients like who would you put in a room by there selves. Know therapeutic communication what would you say to a person if ..... Know meds read the outlines in nclex books there are alot info there and math alot easier than in school Good luck you can do it
