  1. I was looking into volunteering abroad as a 3rd semester nursing student and was wondering if anyone out there has volunteered abroad. What I hope to gain from the volunteer experience is: learning medical Spanish to speak somewhat fluently, help gain employment, and work autonomously so I will feel comfortable when I get my first job. If you've volunteered abroad I would be grateful if you could share with me: What company? Was it worth the time/ money? Did you learn medical Spanish? How much did you utilize your nursing skills? Were you able to assess, give medications/ injections/ IVs, perform wound care, etc. Or was it more observing? Did it help you get a job? And anything else that would be important to know.
