  1. @faithfulalways I will be seeing you in orientation as I got the position!
  2. My greatest recommendation is to do your preceptorship in peds oncology, become a member of APOHN, and get acls and pals certified in your senior year.....this will look extremely good on your resume and show the hiring manager that you really want to be a peds oncology rn. I say this because I just graduated in may and got hired on as a peds oncology nurse because I was well prepared and peds oncology is my passion. Good luck!
  3. great! I just emailed you :)
  4. @ faithfulalways do you mind giving me your email address so I can respond to your message. It won't allow me to respond to your message
  5. Good luck @ Faithfulalways!!!
  6. oh ok that makes sense, thank you for clarifying! I am an external candidate, so there is hope for all you externals!
  7. Do hurst! I just passed Nclex with only 75 questions while half of them were select all that apply! I feel the questions at the end are more higher level than the ones on the practice test, but u really need to grasp your core content. Study hurst and you will succeed. I made notecards from everything in the book minus the specialty ones and made sure I knew it all and it took me about two weeks and the week before my Nclex all I did was practice test and refresh myself on areas I struggled.
  8. @RN.bound I recently graduated from the bsn program and I will tell you it is very challenging but very doable to work and go to school because many will try to say its impossible. I can definitely say that this program is changing for the better but is a rather slow process and be glad they changed the grading scale to normal however anything below a 75 is failing. And if you fail you will have to wait a year to retake if they allow you. Also, the staff is getting better about listening to student concerns, however the one thing I felt this program lacked was ORGANIZATION! You never know your class schedule until about the night before you start, so having to plan for work can be challenging and you have to be extremely flexible with your schedule as it will be constantly changing. There's so much more I could say but if u have any questions feel free to ask
  9. @v98ginger I'm just curious if the nurse recruiter told you they were done hiring for the new grad positions because I'm still going thru the interview process and have another interview next week for it. Now I'm not sure what to think :/
  10. @faithful always I just received your message and tried to respond, however, the site won't allow me as I am new to it. I had my phone interview the other day and am moving on to the next phase of interviewing. Just wanted to say thank you and I wish you the best.
  11. @FaithfulAlways, im sorry to hear that! I was hoping if you could give me some insight on how your interviews were conducted and by who, as I am scheduled to interview for the first time. Also, those of you who got the CIS email that's great because that means you have your foot in the door for the next cohort, and from what I've been told several more positions will be open then as they are adding another section to the hospital. Also, I know COH is switching over to electronic charting sometime in October.
  12. From what I know, emails have been sent to those to verify some info and schedule phone interviews. Also, they don't yet know exactly how many positions will be open, but estimating around 20. Also, I heard from a friend who has had a phone interview her status said both on file and in process.
