  1. Hi, I'm sorry that you have been having such a hard time. Please consider what others have said regarding seeking help and bringing your issues to the attention of your instructor. Nursing school is difficult, and I recall my family saying that I wasn't always a joy to be around--especially around exam dates. I have had a few classmates who confided to me that they needed to consult with their GP for prescription anxiolytics or anti-insomnia medication during our program's most intense semester. My classmates were wonderful, compassionate nurses who realized that they needed help. It's ok to need help sometimes. Disregard the posters who are sending only negativity your way-- you have every bit as much potential to be a compassionate nurse someday. If need be, talk to your instuctors about taking a pause, and resume when you are in a good head-space. Wishing you the best! :)
  2. I'm sorry to hear that your latest attempt was not successful. What tools have you used to study? I used the Kaplan class with practice questions... I did every single question to see and understand the rationales for the answer. Also, what my Kaplan instructor recommended for the final day or so prior to the exam day was to put down the study materials, walk away and do something you enjoy so that you are refreshed for game day. I know that the exam is expensive, but it's an investment for your future, right? Sorry about your boss and overall work environment, hope the next time around the exam results will be in your favor so you can show them. Wishing you the best of luck in the future!
  3. As a new grad, I can relate to you-- the fear is real. However, there is always going to be fear when trying something new. I'm sure the first few days of your nursing program was pretty terrifying, too. Think of how far you have come as a nurse, and try to work on your weaknesses. As stated by coffeetalker, there will always be an orientation process once you start working. Best of luck to you.
  4. Hi all, I will be officially starting CSUDH this coming Fall '16. Any pearls of wisdom, study tips or general advice would be much appreciated! I am also interested in learning what you considered to be the tougher courses in the RN-BSN program, so I can plan my course schedule into a more manageable workload for me. Also, is the required GWAR/GWE exam something I should be losing any sleep over? Thanks in advance!
