  1. Chicago, I was offered 70 SOC, 60 recert, 50 visits. Can't remember dc. No mileage. But I took another job @ 70 SOC and recert, 45 all else. No mileage.
  2. How long do u typically stay for regular visit. ( sorry for typo)
  3. My reg visits run 40 min even if all goes well. Is this too long? I can be done earlier but they want ro seem to gab
  4. Squeege i was. Wondering too if u have copy of soc cheat sheet that u would like to share
  5. As always thanks for input, we help each and learn from each other.
  6. Thanks, i think i'll make a cheat sheet too! Love the idea
  7. Do you spend the 2.5-3 hours at the. House with the pt? Or do you spend an hour with the pt and the rest somewhere else filling out paperwork. I'm new and it takes me 2 hours with the pt, filling out oasis, then I go home and spend another 30 min filling in what ever I skimmed over. Is this average? Like I said someone told me it takes them an hour.
  8. Hasn't happened. What if pt needs ambulance but doesn't want to go bc of the cost, or whatever? Can I still call if I feel it is warranted? Bc the pt can refuse the ambulance, therefore I covered my A, along with documentation. Or should I just call supervisor, and Dr, and document.
  9. What is the average time to start a pt. It takes me about 2 hrs and I use the oasis page by page. Others tell me they do it in an hour, others tell me they don't use the oasis in front of the pt, but rather fill it out after the visit.
  10. Acls is for er, I looked into dm educator but I don't have enough time in the field yet
  11. I looked up and it said there were no more certificatiins
  12. Always thanks to all who reply.
  13. Pt complains of freq night urination. Lasix bid. He takes 8am & then 7pm. I believe the 7 is too late, can he take 2nd dose at 4:30 instead of 7pm
  14. A pt called me describing leg pain from a bump from 5 days ago, also on Coumadin. I was not able to see the pt same day. Pt denied s/s of any PE or internal bleeding. I informed pt to call her Dr, and to call 911 of any s/s of PE . Pt will wait to see me next day. Am I responsible to see pt within a few hours? Or within 24hr?
  15. Never atb, not dx as Pvd, pt reports poor vein circulation due to leg injury. It looks like Pvd, one leg.
  16. Im looking for a clearly defined but one page

Nocturia is only inc urine at night, not in day time, eight? If on diuretic and inc urine day and night, this would not be nocturia, right?
  18. I thought granulation was for stage 2 and up bc stage one is intact skin
  19. I have 10 yr exp on fire dept as paramedic, and recently became a adn @ 47, My teachers always felt I was far above the crowd bc of my exp yet I could not find a job with adn. Only thru luck and great connections I got a job in home health. So far I like it bc of the flexibility. At my age I'm torn with do I stay an adn, now 50, or go on for a bs, I would have to pay for it bc my job doesn't reimburse like a hospital would. Then if I get it I'm afraid I still won't get a local job bc I'm too old, with no real exp. Of course I feel not to old, and I have acute skills, and a lot to offer, but that's the feeling I got already.
  20. I sooo agree. I have 10 yr exp on fire dept as paramedic, and recently became a adn @ 47, My teachers always felt I was far above the crowd bc of my exp yet I could not find a job with adn. 21. In Illinois there are so many hospitals who won't even look at you wo 4 yr, or they will hire adn, but usually get beat out of job by someone with 4yr. Things to consider, maybe your child needs you or is ur child independent with school, when u decide will u have adequate help now or later. I became a paramedic with a 1 yr old @24, retired early from work @32 when I had a 2 yr old. My older child had ADHD and he really needed me. Went back to sch and became a adn at 47. So its your life, decide when u have help, when your needed most, is everyone healthy now, when ur willing to give up those years. I would have loved to have done it earlier, but was unable to. My family needed me more at that time.
  22. She qualifies and would only do hh if it was me
  23. New pt, I'm trying to contact Dr. One leg Very large red skin discoloration, small blister like anterior of leg by ankle. Minor swelling. No pain. Can feel touch, hot, cold. 2yr Hx. Tx only topical fluoconoid corticosteroid. Pt reports old ankle injury. I was thinking Pvd, pad, in one leg due to injury. Another rn said cellulitis. Is there ever a time where cellulitis is not tx with antibiotics?
