  1. hi, i am not sure on hospitals in Florida that are willing to sponsor directly. I would probably go through an agency as they can answer more questions too. Some agencies however, have a charge for this service so make sure you read them carefully. Also if a "deal" sounds too good then it probably is. Wishing you all the very best of luck, with the current retrogression continuing its certainly not easy.
  2. Hi Benny Bear How did you get on at interview? I have managed to find an agency who is impressed with my resume and willing to help with the sponsorhip. My downside is that its 4hrs south of where i want to be, but willing to do what ever it takes to get out. I am currently awaiting an interview date. I really hope that something comes of this soon. I have had a few responses back from other hospitals whom although found my resume impressive, are not able/willing to provide sponsorship at this time. Mochamo - if you are currently living in CA - are you on a student visa then? As for wanting to work in L&D I would get as much experience as possible in this field and up to date in fetal monitoring etc. I think the whole process for foreign nurses to obtain sponsorship is tough right now and more knowledge and experince can only benefit. Let us know how you get on.
  3. Ok thank you for your help.
  4. I am looking to work as an RN hopefully in obstetrics with the potential to go back to school in the US to study a masters in Midwifery one day. I am stuck on the visa screen process at the moment now though. I contacted an agency and they told me start the process but as he is currently on holiday until end of August I feel bad about as him questions as to which visa I should apply for.
  5. I have a diploma of nursing which is a 3 year course in the UK and a bachelor degree in midwifery.
  6. Hi BunnyBear, where did you do your RN training? I am also looking at moving to Texas as I also love it there. I have passed the NCLEX and just started the visa screen process through CGFNS. Everything I read at the moment is very negative towards immigrant nurses. I am a British trained nurse (9yrs) and midwife (6yrs). How are you getting on?
  7. ok so will be better looking at a temporary work visa rather than something more permanant. The process is so complicated thats for sure.
  8. Hello, I am hoping someone may be of some help. I am a registered nurse and midwife in the UK and have recently passed the NCLEX examination. I have a CES report from CGFNS and I am now looking for sponsorship. I keep hearing of negative stories about being unable to work in USA due to stricter immigration. I am looking at working in Rural Dallas area but I havent got a clue where to start. Are nurses being allowed to work, how long is it taking and does anyone know where is the best place to start looking for sponsorship? Thank you in advance
