  3. Hi folks, i recently went for a nursing assessment test for a rmn job. I passed the literacy section but failed the numeracy miserably. Myself and many others found the questions hard and taxing. I have added a few of the questions and would be thankful if anyone could answer/example them. Thanks? 1) A baby weighs 3.95kg. How much does the baby weigh in pounds and ounces? 2) A patient weighs 11 stones . The daily dose 20mg/kg, calculate the patient's daily dose. Answer in grams to 2 decimal places. 3)A patient requires oral doses of drug Z. Dose required is 15 ml four times a day for 3 weeks. What volume do you need to prescribe in mls? 4) A patient is given 3mls of 1:1000 drug H. How many mls of drug H has the patient received? 5) How much of drug F is contained in a 1 in 10000 unit solution of adrenaline? 6)How much of drug F is contained in a 1 in 100 unit solution of adrenaline? 7) Solution contains 5g/L of drug H, How many grams will be in a solution of 200ml? 8) 270mg of drug J is prescribed. 5ML of solutions contains 30mg what volume is needed?

Dont ask leading questions -Seek medical assistance -report to senior nurse -document -risk assessment(look at child's history) -inform parents -if bruises are the result of harm inform child protection, social worker, police and ward manager.

However i think i would do the following: -i would not jump to conclusions -1:1 with the child to find out about the origins of the bruises. I was given the following scenario to answer: I am a primary nurse of a 13 year old child on an acute mental health unit. I have only been working with this child for 3 day(since his admission) when i notice a large bruise on the back of his leg. I ask him how he got the bruise and he just shrugs his shoulders in response. How can i safe guard and ensure the safety of this child. What should i do?
