  1. So I currently have 3 months of med/surg experience and 7 months of plasma donation center nursing experience. I'm planning on moving to San Diego by the end of the summer since my boyfriend is in the military and is getting stationed there. My question is, will my experience in the plasma center count as legitimate nursing experience? I've heard before that its not considered as nursing experience...and to be honest I don't feel like I gained much from my time there but I really needed a job at the time I accepted the position. I'm scared I might have screwed myself over since I won't be considered a new grad anymore so can't apply for new grad positions. Please help! Thanks in advance
  2. Thanks for the reply! I don't what kind of clientele the center gets, my interview is next Thursday but from what I know about the area its pretty nice. The recruiter and the job description online says the duties of the rn would be to take the donors hx, do assessments and be there in case of adverse reactions and call pts who have positive results for which they can't donate plasma. The recruiter also asked me a couple of questions about how I deal with tedious tasks and do I have any issues with doing repetitive tasks so its leading me to believe this wouldn't be AT ALL like hospital nursing which is completely fine with me. I just don't want to make a stupid decision, plus I already have sort of a biased opinion about going back to the hospital....I'm so confused.
  3. Hello, I have an interview with a plasma center as a medical supervisor and a job offer on a telemetry unit...my question is, is plasma center nursing less stressful? And are there opportunities for advancement? what is the normal salary? I'm still considered a new grad because I only have 3 months of hospital experience (left my previous job because my preceptor SUCKED and the unit just wasn't a good fit for me)..I'm kind of leaning towards the plasma center because I honestly hated the hospital but everyone keeps telling me to get that one year in med/surg...any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  4. Hello, I have an interview coming up on the telemetry/progressive care unit at fmh and wanted some insight on what questions to prepare myself for. Also do they ask clinical scenario questions? Thanks!
