Exactly, he is the prime example of a miserable nurse that hates his job. Dude needs to relax with all the negative talk. He says he don't hate his job, could of fooled me.

Wow exactly what i'm talking about. Yet certain people (also on this thread) still feel like nursing is for everyone. I will say this, when you become a nurse, or you worked hard at it, but you are struggling to get a job or somebody who don't give a crap about being a nurse gets the job, then i would like to hear those peoples comments. SMH please.Those type of people are flooding the nurse field and for all the wrong reasons, and it's affecting the people who for years wanting to be a nurse, struggling to get a job. Nothing is fair in life, but it disturbs me. It does seem like you can get into nursing school with good grades, but for the wrong reasons. SMH

Majority of pre nurses really don't understand what it takes to be a nurse. They don't understand it's more than just passing pills to patients as you say. When they realize that it's more to being a nurse, they freak out and all of a sudden want to change their career. Or if it's too late, and they have started to be a nurse, then not speaking for all, but those are the nurses you see on the wards looking so miserable looking like they don't want to be at work. It's a shame but the nurse field is being flooded with they just looking to have a stable career type nurses, making it even harder for the true dedicated, work their orifice of nurses struggling to find a job. I'm just taking A&P by itself this semester because i too wanted to focus 100% on the class.

Congrats on getting the A on the lecture and lab. What are some of the things your instructor says regarding studying smarter? I'm trying to study smarter, but seems like i study more harder than i should do

Good Evening everyone, Just had my first A&P lab test. Felt real good, felt like i got a good score but will have to wait and see. Test was on Anatomical terms, Directional terms, planes, the place of different organs etc. I studied hard and its paying off. Just wanted to let people know, is to study hard from the get go, don't leave it to the last minute because that's not going to work due to so much memorization. I memorized bit by bit, day by day. Don't wait to find out he or she gives you a study guide and tells you maybe what's on the test. Study everything, which will make you well prepared. I got a A&P lab exam on Sept 10th, and the lecture exam on either Sept 16th or 18th. Been studying like crazy, but got to get a high grade. Good luck everyone

Don't give up, you have come so far, why give up now. Your a strong women, going through an abusive relationship, dealing with your daughter. A great story, thank for sharing it. Hard work pays of, you are absolutely right about that. Your sister is right, many people would look up to you, especially women that are going through similar situation that you have been through. SMH for A&P i've been studying about 4 hours a day. There is so much to read and memorize. I have to give myself time to memorize so much. Haven't studied in years so right now it's tough but i have to deal with it because the nursing program will be much tougher and more chapters to study.

Really sorry to hear that. Seem like he was a great guy that did so much to help so many people out. Remember that you are already making him proud by you hard work and dedication, and commitment to your family. Hang in there, you are going to do just fine.

Thats a true husband right there, that will do anything for his family, no matter what job it is as long as their is food on the table. You will succeed because besides you working hard for your goal, you have a strong foundation behind you supporting your dream. Good luck. You have a great husband that keeps you focused and who is their for you through thick and thin, ups and downs. It's alway's good to have the other half that truly supports you. Make your day that much special. That is great that you want to provide the best care for your patients and they inspire you to wanting to be their at work. Is their anyone in your life that inspires you? Motivates you to continue up and down the road of being a Nurse? My motivation comes from my daughter. There are a lot of times where i feel that i want to just quit and go back to Accounting. There are times i'm working so hard, then come home so tired and have to study. She alway's tells me " never give up daddy, the only thing you can do is do your best" My daughter motivates me so much that i just have to continue, don't let no obstacles get in my way. She gives me that extra energy to continue and know that down the road, my goal of being a nurse, my second career that should of been my first career, my passion is at the end. I just wanted to share my story with you all because motivation, inspiration certainly does take you a long way. Motivation, inspiration can come from anyone or anything in your life. I'm 38, and in the pre-nursing program. This thread really encourages me because i know lol i'm not the only person in my thirties working on being a future nurse. I've been out of school for about 8 years, so was nervous at first but i'm hanging in their. My goal is to first get my Associates in Nursing, then work up to Masters and get my Nurse Practitioners license. Want to work as a Pediatric nurse practitioner. Got some time to go, but it will happen. I'm an accountant, so i'm trading in my suits for scrubs. Good luck everyone, we can do this:yes:

My first week, i had a quiz on directional terms and planes. To be honest i knew the terms etc, but i think i panicked a little bit so might not of done well on the first quiz. I don't know, i seem to alway's panic on the first quiz, and then after, i settle down and do way much better. SMH i'll be fine though.

I believe the first week or two are most intimidating being in a class because of receiving the syllabus and seeing all those tests and assignments, and trying to figure out the professor. Hang in there everyone, focus and study hard. Good luck

I thought about being a radiologic tech before, but nursing weighed on my mind more, so nursing here i come. I'm getting older, so although you can accomplish a goal at any age, i feel that it's now or never for me. Good luck with being a future nurse. You are going to be just fine.
